I'm Eric Sue and I'm Able to Tell, and today we're going to talk about Google's new link building roles. It neal so Google ended up announcing that in twenty twenty. I believe it's March first. Is the day I'm actually looking up if it is March first, in which they want people to start doing new things when it comes to link building. So you guys are all familiar with what is it called reil eCos no follow right, and then to clarify the date, it is in March first, twenty twenty when it goes into effect. So you use no follow to say, hey, this link is paid, I don't want to count juice, I don't like this site. Now they want you to also start using rel eCos ugz yeah, and content yeah, and real eCos sponsored. So you just see a user generator contents eric you mentioned sponsored is pretty much saying like, hey, this was paid for it. So now as a webmaster, when you link out to someone and they pay you, they want you to tag it as reute eCos sponsored by March first, twenty twenty. You don't do this with all your old stuff, but they want you to do it with all the new stuff going forward. And they want you to use real eCos ug for all user generated content. But yeah, that was like a big change. I do believe that most people aren't going to do this because they're going to either forget or they're going to try to manipulate this system. Yeah, well you know the people that do do it, you know, probably better for Googles at Google Search engines anyway, they just want to be able to tag. Their mission is to organize the world's information, right, So it's just you know, they want to be able to discern, well, they want to be able to figure out better what the hell is going on with the web? Right. So I guess my question is, Neil, with all these new link building rules, do people need to worry at all? I wouldn't say necessarily worry. And now I'm going out here on a limb. I believe that it's actually going to be a good thing because most user generated content right now, like guest posts, the links are just no followed. But if they change it to rel eCos UGC and the contents valuable, the link is contextual, it makes sense. It benefits the user, you know, maybe at a ratio one to one hundred. Google doesn't give it one hundred, you know, in weight like a normal link, but they may give it a ten or a thirty or a forty. So you may be able to start getting some link juice from some of these user generated sites when before there were just no follow them and not count them. Right Like, for example, we could pre a links if you're linking out to a site. It's user generated and that link makes sense, why doesn't it pass away? They should just do rally goos UGC instead of no following it, letting Google know, hey, this is user generated content, and Google may decide because it's easier to get maybe we don't give it full weight, but we give it something, and that's better than no follows. So I'm really looking forward to it because I think it can actually benefit SEOS, and I think that's the direction they'll go, assuming again the contents of value, the site has authority and people just aren't spamming. Yeah, I'm just thinking about some practical applications here, and Neil, you kind of gave them already. I would say, like, you know, if user generated content looking at you know the sometimes user generator content could just even be in the comments, right, that's user generated content. Sometimes it can be like you know, people filling out y'll profiles or like the Yelp reviews, right, that's huge, you see. Also, at the same time, you know, Neil, I'm sure you get hit of like a thousand times. I get hit up a ton on this for people that want to pay for quote unquote sponsored posts. But you know you can basically make that post, you know, just no desertion. Hey this post is actually sponsored, so you know that way, you know, you're signaling that, hey, maybe this shouldn't pass as much link juice as a complete like no follow. Like actually, I was talking to somebody the other day this is actually unrelated. But you think about what California is slapping Uber and Lyft right now, or just basically all the gig economy people. They're saying, hey, you know what, you guys are going to have to classify all your drivers, all your workers as employees. So there's two sides, right, there's either right now, like you know, these gig economy and workers, they have no benefits, they're classified as contractors. And then on the other side that's like completely tilty the other way where they're classified as employees. Right, So what I'm trying to say here is, you know, instead of saying hey, it's either link equity or no link equity, now Google is giving a little middle ground saying hey, we might pass little equity. That's to me, that's a better solution to say it's either one or the other. It's either all or nothing. So that's where I think it's going so I think a lot of people need to think about, you know, how they can practically use it. I think Neil, you said, what is it being implemented again? March verse twenty twenty is when it all fully gets rolled out, and I'm assuming by then a drafts and sem rush and all those guys will start making the changes. The stress hasn't been there. They pop up UGC already in their tool so oh cool. Yeah, do you want to close it off? Yeah?
