I'm Eric Sue and I'm Neil Patel, and today we're going to talk about three actional lessons every marketer can learn from Tim Fah. You want me to go first, or you want to go go for it? All right with Tim Ferriss. The key thing about him is that he calls himself the human guinea pig, which means he likes to experiment. So people we talked about in the last episode, you have to be willing to adapt to the new norms, but you have to be willing to experiment. So Tim Ferriss tries a lot of different things. He wrote a book called The Four Hour Workwek and that was his canvas for building his muse That's how he built his brand name. But he continued to adapt, he continued to evolve, and he wrote The Four Hour Chef, which is really teaching people how to learn. It's not really so much about just cooking, but it's how to learn. He just keeps going. He keeps trying to get better better. He even came out with a show on Apple that was released and it was actually pretty good. More he was trying to learn a new skill in four hours, and so he just keeps trying new things. And because he's out there, he's putting himself out there, he's collecting data. People love following him because he's original, and that's allowed him to get a lot of deal flow because he's built up his brand from experimenting. So first he experiments, and then second he's built up a brand being consistent. All Right, so number two. Another actual lesson from Tim is use data in everything. Tim doesn't make claims. He shows you data and proof that something will work. How why he uses scientific data to back up everything or research. When you're creating content, when you're doing your own marketing, if you use data, you're much more likely to get back links, You're much more likely to get social shares, You're much more likely to be seen as an expert when it comes to Google's eat algorithm, expertise, authority, trustworthiness. Use data. People take it for granted, but data is very powerful, and we see when we end up creating content that has data, it does substantially better than when it doesn't. For example, a lot of my posts that have data and unique graphs easily are able to pull in one hundred plus back links naturally. Keep in mind I already have a big audience, but when I don't, we're finding a lot of my blog posts hit or miss, where they only may produce five back links, ten back lians, some fifteen, twenty, some even more than one hundred, but it's more all over the board. Well, when we use data, it's much more likely to be a hit. The third and final point is that Tim is an obsessive learner. So what do I mean by that? It means just because you get to a certain level of success does not mean you start learning. We see a lot of people that become successful and then they let that get to them and then they kind of stop learning and their ego takes over. So if you think about the warm Buffetts of the world, the Mark Cubans of the world, they spend hours and hours a day reading, reading, reading, learning learning. Now with Tim, he spends a lot of time reading as well, talk about stoticism. He reads a lot of different books, but he also brings a lot of different perspectives onto his podcast because he wants to learn from all over the world. He wants to understand how people think. He wants to understand the habits, the routines of other people. He wants to be able to dissect that wisdom and distill it not only for himself but for the entire world. So if you can continue to be in an obsessive learner and know that whatever you know really doesn't mean that much in the grand scheme of things, and know that you're a perpetual newbie, then you're going to be ahead of everyone else.
