A female student from Wheeler High School was involved in an accident while crossing the street on Friday afternoon. The student crossed between cars and was hit by a school bus while using her cell phone. Despite injuries, she was conscious and alert when emergency services arrived. Fortunately, there were no injuries to students on the bus. Both Cobb Schools Police and Cobb Police, along with district staff, responded to the scene. The school's principal is in touch with the family, and a quick recovery is anticipated. An update on Saturday revealed the student is expected to return to school the following week.
