Cobb looks to move forward with Ebenezer Downs Park improvements

View descriptionShare

The Cobb Board of Commissioners has approved a $238,450 contract with Pond & Company for the design and construction administration of improvements to the 17.5-acre Ebenezer Downs Park. The improvements, which include a paved path, picnic tables, a playground, and a trail through the woods, were first revealed to the public in 2019 and will be funded by the county's 2022 special-purpose local-option sales tax program. The park will remain a passive park with no sports facilities, but the house on the property will be opened to the public for weddings, reunions, and other events. Construction is expected to begin in fall or winter 2023 and last between six and nine months, with the park scheduled to open in fall 2024.
