LISTEN ABOVE

You're listening to the Marcus Lush Nights podcast from News Talks at be.

Welcome people, Good evening, one of us Marcus here for this Thursday. Yes, that's right, Thursday. A lot of you will think it's Friday because it feels like Friday as we go into Easter. I've got a lot to say about Easter, such an important religious holiday, such an important religious wouldn't call it a holiday occasion to mark, But boy, oh boys, that do my head in time wise, We've got everything I don't like. I've got change, which is a day I don't work, and then you've got days with shops have closed and all sorts of stuff. So yeah, for me, I don't think I'm alone here. For me, Easter is one of those holidays that I will come out of it feel like I've been through the blender. It's not a It's not a holiday that provides reliable.

Kind of.

Feelings for me?

Is it?

Saturdays at Sunday? Are the shops open? What can I do? By the way, on a Saturday on a Sunday If they charge you a surd charge, that's illegal because Sunday is not a public holiday, even though it's called good Sunday. See already, I think it might be called good Sunday thing. It might be called hes to Sunday. So there we go, so into that, and good on you for those people that respect and into that. I hope you're enjoying it, and I hope you're ready for it. I'll work tonight and then i'll work Tuesday. Now some people have taken all the holidays as one and some surprising people have done that on air end off here. But anyway, that is that. So anyway, I will work Thursday, Friday, Saturday next week. I'm not trying to game the system for a very long break, mind you. I wouldn't want the break now because the weather is not good anyhow, and it's my ambition purpose to get you through the next We'll get you through to midnight. I could say things like be careful on the roads, but I hope most of you are careful on the roads anyway. And I don't image a lot of people will be driving because normally what happens on Easter Thursday as people leave work at midday to beat the traffic. Yeah, I don't know if they've done that so much because the weather's not good if you've got weather updates, for us to get those through our eight hundred and eighty eight to eighty. If you are doing something interesting to let us know. I don't know if the cities are crowded or quiet. Sometimes it's a party nights. Sometimes the nights before public holidays aren't that as exciting at all. But do let us know. Get a lot of emails about freeview on kind of over free you now a lot of stuff about freeview. A lot of people say, just use the internet. The whole thing about freeview. The people that have freeview, right, they don't have the internet. It's old school. They don't have fiber at the door. They have an area on the roof and their TV and they like the channel's coming through space and then coming on the TV. That's what they love. Yes, iday can get smart TVs. You can plug in and get freeview. Those aren't the people it's too late to change. These are the people that are still lamenting the end of the checkbook. Hands up if you're miss a check or missing checkbooks, No hands No one's missing those. No one Why I thought, yeah, I feel like writing a check today. No one anyway, Text email, call here, till midnight. It'll start slowly end quick. That's my prediction of tonight. If there's breaking news, it will happen with that, be earthquakes or weathers, wethers twelve meters swells to they are happening tonight. I'm not quite sure where the peak winds are, but I'll keep you up to date with all of that. Hopefully it's going to be quiet on the roads, and hopefully there's not going to be too many closure things to talk about that. We did that enough of that last night. It seems as though it's been bad, but not terrible, not like houses falling down cliffs like Gabrielle. I'm looking at windy dot com because I can, and I'm looking at the X tropical cyclone TAM that's going clockwise. And if you've got a ruler and a compass and took the eye of that hurricane and came along on the east west whatever that is latitude or longitude latitude longitude, it would be alongside the Hokianga Harbor, but about two hundred clemties off there. So it's dragging warm air from the Pacific from the north east across the north part of the North Island yep. So you will get winds, but there'll be warm winds funneling through cock Strait, funneling around Mount Taranaki, funneling through Nelson. But no matter what happens for you tonight, whether your freeview is uncontactable, whether your powers I am here for you do help you do what you need to do tonight. I want to be at a smooth progression through to Easter. Shops will be closed tonight, but your corner Deery probably will be open so tomorrow, and that's fine. I can probably do with a business. These big stores, I don't know about them. I don't know about that either, But hopefully your plans will be kind of okay, even if you are going somewhere, whether weather is not going to be that good. I don't think many people have been canceled the holidays. The holidays, I don't think you have much luck doing that at this time of the year. Good luck getting a refund. I think on booking dot com you can can get a refund. On other channels you can't, or other channels are the booking agents. Marcus from midnight, everything is cloned, including the casinos. No takeaways, no supermarkets. What about uber Eats? What about door Dash? Will they deliver tomorrow? Could someone tell me if there's an Uberist or a Doordashian, they'd be a good name from the Doordashians. It'd be a good name for a show, wouldn't it. Yet delivery drivers sit around and talk about their feelings the Doordashians. I could see that now, Yeah, keeping up with the Doordashians amazing. I'd be one of those few people probably that have watched the Kadeshians and quite enjoyed it. I know it's quite fanciful to say, oh never you know, they came up for their twenty fifth year out of it. Oh, I never watched a second. I think, well, why not? Do you think that you're going to get sucked in by it all? Marcus, sounds like some of your listeners don't know what free means. That's why it's called free view. Anyway, get in touch if you want to talk. Anything goes tonight. There might be something out of the gate you've got for me tonight. I don't really I'm not too worried about the quality of the callers tonight. I just want to get him through, get him and get him off. I have already read an article today about eleven men who will hang on the cross for east exhibition at the church. This is in Bethleyhem Baptist Church. It's a really creepy kind of a story. I read that and I thought, what's that about? But I want to sound religiously intolerant. But the guy's been training to hang himself from the cross and they've even got the makeup to do the just all it looks performative and wrong. Yeah, this guy says as an honor and a privilege. He said the makeup for the role took an hour to apply. Would be re immersive experience for visitors. The most challenging aspects would be physically hanging on the cross and the spiritual element. I've got no idea what that's about. I thought that's the sort of thing that in the Philippines. Anyway, get in touch with your talk. My name is Marcus. Welcome hitdle twelve. Go a lot to say tonight and a long time to say it. Breaking news when that happens, I'll keep you update with what's going on. Mark Lundy is to be released from prison. Of course, they tried him and he was found guilty. Then he went to a retrial when they changed the whole time frame to make it not as complicated for him to drive all that way, and then he was still found guilty. So yes, good evening, Henry. It's Marcus. Welcome.

He's good Henry.

It's going well. Thank you. Did you mean that when you asked that?

Yeah, yeah, you know.

It's got No, we've had a clear day. I've planted a lot of trees. It's been about well, it's been about eighteen degrees and it's been it's been a very still, calm day.

Okay, I'll just ring up you know Taraniki very well. Yes, the hotel just burned down.

Oh you're joking.

It is about twenty eight fiances there. Like I said, I live in from the Neui and about I have about six of you who we heard all the sawirens going out oftown and some guys just wrought from Facebook. Now the patches of the White Toto Hotels just burned down to the ground.

It's just yeah, it's gone.

Oh that's heartbreak, king.

Yeah, because they got to go all the way upon.

You'll go all the way away?

Would you get being now.

What hotel was it the wat Oh yeah, I'm just trying to work out with it is So is it.

The part you go out of you go through kai Ewe and you go down this big hill and what is to the side. You've got to go to this big long bridge and whatt just tucked to the side?

Is it a wooden pub?

Yeah? What it was?

Yeah it was.

Yeah.

Oh that will be the that will be the lifeblood of the community.

Yeah.

Well that's a pretty much the town gone. Now that was out you know what that was the center of Yeah.

How come that still on the news?

Well?

No, well I think it's manage because it just happened because the sirens going through for about six thirty and but guys just put up photos of the you know, the fine engines and evening and the hotel.

What Facebook page?

Ah, I don't know, just on Facebook. I think I'm just I'm not really sure. There's more fun was just shooting me. I suppose if you just put in more Tokyo hotel it might come up.

But he is just because it it won't be getting rebuilt, will it.

I don't think so.

Yeah, I'm seeing it now. Why total hotels on file? Gerald Price has put it up there, I'm looking at that's well involved, cheapest. This is great update from you there, Henry. You've been a bit of a show saver. There are now over twenty pounds is on the scene responding to the fully involved. Why talk to our hotel fire that broke out about six pm. Fire crews now have eight pumps, tenders, a mobile command at six water tank is an instant commander and more attending foreign emergencies. Also of a water supply in the four square and Waverley for tankers to refill, as well as all other appliances. They have an error responding as well to tackle the two story fire. Police and ambulance have been notified. So that's a worry. Yeah, messive flames, Yeah, it's free like well hey, so from me to you, Henry. You know how some pubs are in their heyday and some pubs have seen their best years. She still had a fear few people would go there on a Thursday and have a beer there.

Or justind of like the country people marketing because it's kind of the country town. Yeah, because Waverley, you've got two pubs. They got their own kind of town, and Song always got their own. So you know, it's only really the farmers and stuff that you know people there live in No Mo Todre.

Oh that's heartbreaking. Okay, well, I appreciate the update from you, Henry. That's breaking because it's a big story for tonight. We'll get that in the bulletins and everything, because you that's a that's a big story. But yeah, I guess it's not I guess the country like New Zealand, it's not uncommon for pubs to burn down, is it. Yeah? Okay, Henry, nice to hear from you. Well, so just like that breaking news. And look, not only have I never and I feel bad because the guy said, you know Tanhaki, Well I see, yes, notly have I never heard of that town. I've never been to that pub. So it's between Waverley and Fangui sweet looking town. Oh that's bad. So that's about the pub that's been Now anyone's got the experiences of that pub. We need to hear from now White to know that's the pub south? Is that? When that Tananhaki? Where's the border? Matthew Marcus evening and welcome you know Marcus.

So sorry I don't have any such great news for your radio listeners such great news or breaking news. I was just inquiring because I was looking at the Windy app after you mentioned it, because I love that app.

Isn't it fun? I'm like that as a screen saver because that dynamic, all those winds going around and it tells you.

But it's because if your bodies and stuff, it's really good.

How can they get how could they get such a good U r L. You think someone would have bought that and just be hanging on to it Windy dot com.

It's but anyway, I was looking at Windy because I like flight radar too. You just looking at it?

Hang on, hang on, hang on? Are we just calling it windy?

Yeah?

The Windy app. You can get the premium or.

The hang on. But can I say to someone, I was just looking at Windy, yes, slap? What circles do you move in?

Esteemed one?

Clearly you're heading the jargon. Just looking at Wendy. Where are you? Okay?

Yep, it's a great app.

It's a really good Then I was comparing it to flight Radar, which I quite like. It's another app you know at tracks planes radar?

Yep.

Yeah, And basically there's a south China Airline flight flying out of Auckland heading straight for that cyclone. Wow, I'm wondering. Yeah, it does, Like can you.

Put can you put one on top of the other.

I was trying to do that.

You need a cook you need a nerd or a teenager or two screens? Yeah, but put one on the Okay. So China ear is going straight for the eye of the hurricane over it?

Like, is it doesn't fly over it? Or will it use the winds to get a bit of a boost because there are flights still leaving one the Emirates flight left out of christ Church.

Wow, and that's this is your Thursday night. But talk back. But looking at windy and flight on top of each other.

Wow?

Yes, But how's it going? How's it going?

Now?

How far is it? Is it close to the eye of the hurricane?

It would be I suppose about maybe fifteen minutes away. Well, I'm not looking at it because I'm talking to you on the phone.

I thought you'd be in like a room with big screens up.

No, I want to be I would love to be in an immersion room of windy.

Okay, that's interesting. Okay, you didn't Okay, anything else from you. That's your fight, that's your flight stuff.

That's all I want to that's all I want to know.

It's a really good insight for well, two very good calls. One is giving us a bit of breaking news. I'm still waiting for someone keeping up with the Doordashians. Are they delivering tomorrow? Of course we don't have door dash in the cargo or Uber eats. We do have door Dash, but there is an Indian takeaway that delivers to Stuart Island. I can't, for the life of me work out how that happens. They're always advertising, they say, well deliver to Stuart Island. I don't know what that means. I presume they just take it to the airport. Yeah. I'm not gonna go to Stuart Island just to try the takeaway to see how the delivery works. But it's pretty interesting. Good evening, Jan This is Marcus. Welcome.

Oh hi Marcus. I was rushing off to the loo when I turned the radio on and I didn't hear I heard my Toattram mentioned in the pub and I didn't get the rest of it.

Burnt down.

Well, my farm is just on the other side of the bridge.

For mistake, oh, you'll be happy again.

Well, I know that the story behind the pub and the only one they were leasing the hotel. The couple elderly.

And the man is you are right?

I don't know they are saying ambulances are going there. Oh would you spend an evening when you're on the farm, would you spend the evening at the pub?

No?

I never lived out there. I was just renovating the homestead at which I took four years to renovate it and soldered. But I never lived here, but too busy working on the on the homestead. But I did go to the hotel quite a lot because it was the center where you buy groceries or ice creams, and there's the lounge where you could get a nice meal and toilets exodus.

Like shanks and stuff like shanks and meshed potato and stuff.

Yeah, good basic meal. I suppose I never actually had one. But it was a proper pub, you know, with the stall sweet drink your beer, and it was very popular with the locals, you know, all the guys probably from the freezing works.

Where are the works? Are the works? Where are the works?

I further towards the sea, towards the peach right out there on that road. Yeah, going out, not the road with the bridge, but the road going off the main road out to the beach. Okay, way out, here's a beach.

I look at that on Google Map. Thanks for that, Jen, I appreciate that just looking at the maps too. That he's quite right. As in Taranaki, it's just not far from the border. But if you go to a white Tau to that and you go down the river there is a freezing works. It's kind of a no man's land, silver fern farms, white tall too. That's the situation. Almost looks like it's in the sandhills there, closer to the beach place. I've never been aware of. Nice looking river. I suppose the well, whether the farm the freezing works discharge difference whether, I don't know. That's probably why it is there. But of course i'd go to the drink at the pub afterwards. Small kind of a town. It's got a school, not much else. Looks like it's a town of one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight nine, probably forty houses. That's a community hall in a hotel no longer. It's also the hotel and store where jan Jan would have gone to get her basics and yeah, but not drunk there. So that's the situation. It's very much involved. Big fire that's happening. Big fire. Looking at the building, it appears to be brick and the top is brick and rough cast, got two chimneys on. Whether that's the telling for the far I don't know. But it looks like your classic country pub. Brick's on the bottom half and kind of a torp color on the top half. Yeah.

Wow.

And it's kind of a store into it. She looks free, old school in a post office box out the front done the lot. Oh yeah, tow. It's got a courtesy van that's part out the front cursey van. Looks like it's seeing better days. Funny enough. I'm on Google Maps. I'm looking at get this, guys. This is speaker spooky. I'm on Google Maps looking at the hotel on Capo Street while I talk to and I'm looking on Google Maps, and I'm looking in the window of the pub which is burnt down, and in the window painted on the wall all of the pub is a rabbit looks based on Jessica Rabbit and it says happy Easter. What are the chances that a pub would burn down, and I'd go to the Google Maps and look at it on Google Maps. And the photo on Google Maps is taken at Easter, for goodness sake, So that's very much involved. Twenty appliants as ambulances and fire engines are there. If you've been to that hotel or experience, I'd like to hear from you. Also, we are talking about the weather. If you've got weather updates, I will go to I'll be all over Enzentta tonight. There's trees down and all sorts of stuff. But I think probably we've dodged a bullet. But this will last for a while, and as we know, the old slips. Sometimes the ground just gets sodden and sodden more sodden, and then things happen like later on during the weather event, not at the beginning. Looks terrible at North Harbor for the rugby, I mean, the rugby's good, but the weather looks like a shocking state of affairs. So I will keep you updated with the weather. It is hard on that website to tell what's road works and what's weather related, just because but flooding is affecting State Hiway twenty five at Manaya. That's the mandel just coming into Takuma. So that's closed. Boy oh boy. The mandal's not very resilient for floods, is it? Every time? Every time? Could you wouldn't rely on a batch there, would you? And keeping up with the Dardashians, funny you can mention one small, tiny pub and you've just got everyone that's been there, can't you? Anyway? By the way, is in the railway line? I don't think it is. Why I talk to that. That's the pub there burning down as we speak. It seems seems to quite a big hill nearby with sort of telecommunications on the top of it. dB. It's Marcus good evening.

Not only has we got a railway line, but it's got a crossing loop.

Oh of course it has.

And that's potentially what I was doing about it. It's a bit of railway troplow about that one.

So for those that don't know, for those that don't know what are crossing? What did you say? It's got a crossing loop.

Yep.

And when we say the word crossing loop, not everyone understands that because that's what that really means is there's another there's two lines running parallel that the try that the train can go there is the other one goes past. So the word loop is off. I've often found misunder confusing. So it's not actually a loop, is it?

Yeah? Correct?

Yeah, according to the rule book, a loop is alike nected to the mainline provided for the cross trains.

Okay, sorry about that.

No, that's right, just because I've often wondered that myself. But okay, so it's got a loop, and why is it part of folk?

I'm just to add to that loopy thing. If if you've got another line next to the main line, it's not there for crossing trains, it's called a siding. Oh yes, never never the two shall train And it's the crossing of trains that when one of our train controlers managed to get himself in a whole heap of bother when two trains turned up at Waititota to cross each other and both of them were too long to fit. Who's Unfortunately it was the poor train controler, And thankfully it wasn't me that come close. I got caught a partier with one train over links. But when you've got two trains over links, that gets pretty fast.

Yeah, because could they couldn't reverse, could they?

Well, you can, but the the paperwork therein and it's another another carry tree being cut down and turn into paper.

Okay.

What they did in the end was a thing called the American Shuttle, and to try and explain that over the telephone would be very nearly impossible. But they got the two trains past each other.

It sounds like one of those video games you can play. We've got to shunt some lines down. Okay, yeah, I'm hearing.

You, yep, And that's You've got to cut both trains in half. You leave half a train out in the section, and it's really quite clever and it's all done. You need four people that know what they're doing. You need two drivers, a train controller and a center.

Do you need an extra lower? Do you need an extra locomotive?

No?

No, The trains involved the Americans do it all the time, hence the name the American Shuttle. But we we didn't have anybody on duty that they had ever heard of that technique. So it did take some doing, about hours.

I was going to where's my next question? How long did that?

Now?

So would the would twenty eight be the number of wagons?

To tell you the truth I no longer remember, okay, I think there are reasonable trains part here, and wangan Nui had good long loops, but White Tootra was was a sortie in the middle. And you know, you just forget sometimes how long your trains are. You're not supposed to what you do. And this portrain troller, you know, he had to say, six hundred meter trains trying to cross it a five hundred meters crossing loop.

Was it a milk train? Does it still a milk train? Go that way?

No, we didn't have milk trains when I was in trained control, and they came a bit later because Frontira was still being built when I was there. I was there until ninety five, I think.

So this became quite a bit of focal of people say, oh, did you hear what happened at White Tootra with the crossing and did what they called the American.

The American sapphole, And of course all every other train controller is kissed in the ground saying say goodness, it wasn't because if any one of us could have been caught if on that day you're not on your game.

So you're linking some wagons up on the other. Are you putting some wagons up on the other train?

How does this work now?

Because I'm just trying to think, you're going to end up with it. You're going to end up with wagons going the wrong direction. After the American shuttle shuffle.

No, no, no, you leave, You've got trains A and B. Train A cuts itself in half well outside the station and pulls into the loop. Train B goes through the station in its entirety. Train A, leading half of Train A, then goes into the section just vacated. Train B goes down, finds out half of a train that says being left by, and drags it onto the main leaves it there, backs out further runs through the the buggers off. The leading half of training A backs up, recouples his train, and two doors off in the opposite direction. Wow, that's not bad for the top of their head.

You've still got Have you been to the pub?

No, I've been through there when I was being certified for the place. I have no recolition. I've brought the pub up on the on my I'll google this as you ever. They had a look at the loop as well, and everything there there was good sheds and all everything in the good old days, and of course now there's just two tracks.

Someone wants to know the folk festival and Pardo is salon. I've got no idea. But the Folcus can go indoors, can't they? That'll be right. I wouldn't measure your cancel of counselor counsel canceler folk festival, would you? That's part of it, Bob Marcus welcome.

Yeah, I just haven't switch on. You're talking about a fire tonight. I just want to know if anyone can help me tonight and pinched the cottages in Blenham and there's a unit of four and I had to go outside to just walk down to the supermarket and one of them was on fire. So I shot in there and helped the lady. The oven had gone on fire and she gone to town. Quite a bit of smoke and all that around. But would it not be compulsory for the councils to have fire extinguishers in those apartments? Not one person at a fire extinguisher.

Wow, there's a lot to unpick there. Are you living in the council flat?

Yeah?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, But I mean they're going about my one was still on the camper, unfortunately, and I love to get it out and put it in the flat. But people were going on about the you know, they insulct them and make them all nice and you know, all that for them.

But people, and Bob, I can't work out what the downside of having one would be. It's not like it gives a false sense of security or anything. I can't work out any downside at all.

Oh, I've got the fire alarms, you know. But this one we ended up having a woman neighborings. She ended up getting some some wet towels and putting it out because the oven had exploded and she was in town getting some shopping. It hadn't have been for me going outside to go to walk down to the supermarket. God knows what would happen. And you know, I went round and I banged on the doors asking for a forestingish not one person net one.

So So did you say, was she not there? She was? Was she there?

No?

No, she was in town and just coming home in a taxi. So of course we got the fiber gate and they come down and put it out, but they also wanted to check Yeah, the old heat senses. Blah blah, blah blah.

So you could get it, you could get it, you could get into it.

Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, Dave. The next table went in and he put it out with some wet towels in that. But you got to be careful. I didn't want to do that because I didn't know whether there were electrical fault in the oven. Electric charged yourself.

So it was something that was it? Something in the oven?

Yeah?

She left a pan of chips and went off to town. The oven is completely naked. But I just thought it would have been compulsiony for people like the can't, especially the councils, to supply a small fire extinguishing.

Or even one of those fire blankets. I think they're quite useful.

Yeah, so I don't know.

Yeah, well you're rob. What's the standard operating procedure? What do you go to the mains and turn the power off and then throw.

Get the power off?

Especially the oven one?

Did you do that? The oven?

Did you do that? Yes?

Yes, it was just outside of the door, so that was no problem.

But I meant, you've got a bit of smoke intilation to you, but coffee.

Yeah, Dave put it out with wet towels and there, but as I say, I didn't really want to touch it because it was as a supplier that gave Man said to me, if it was an electrical fault, you go, you know, working with a towel and get Yeah.

Well, Dave's a bit of as.

Anyway, I just thought I just thought it was strange that there's thirty flats and this units and these units and there's not one forestinguishing in the place, even if they had one in a box outside something like in between the two lots.

Did you have smoke alarms?

Yes, yeah, they got real good smoke alarms actually.

And you could hear You could hear those before you saw the fire.

Yeah, it's definitely going off. Yeah.

So anyway, that's a sad Easter for her? Is there? Is she going to stay the night in the place?

Yeah, they got the fiber gay boarding some great bog fans.

They did.

Really He put on the expand blew all the stuff out, and she said she can use the microwave over the weekend, so she wouldn't. She was worried that she's going to miss a TV program, so she wasn't too stressed. I mean, I'm just surprised and even if they had one on a on a on a on a lamp post nearby that you could grab when.

I'm worried about that because sometimes it's often a good reason why people don't have them. They'd sell them or but I can't work out why.

Well, I wouldn't think an eighty year olduld sell a forest and would.

You Well, you know, always a case the grandkids telling them for drugs. That's always the way, isn't it. Yeah, but you know, yeah, that might be right.

But I just I just thought it was strange that they didn't have them.

Very strange, Bob. But look, thank you, and think of doing the right. Well, that's a lot too. I'm picking this hour, isn't there the American Shuffle, the Pinch and a flat, the White taught to the pub on fire and still no word on the Dardashians. Is where they'll be livering on Easter Friday. I imagine it would have been a good night there when Key was Key We from Waverley won the America won the Melbourne Cup.

Is that right?

Be a big night at the local pub, although I think Waverley's got a pub also then of course it was Waverly from Shorten Street named after Waverley that was always good. Often think of her as I go through Waverly. Good evening. Who should we go to? Now evening? Lynnett's Marcus?

Welcome, Hello Marcus, thank you for being there. How are you going?

Very good? Thank you Lynn? Thank you for also being there? What can you tell me? What can you ask me?

Oh?

Well, what I can ask you is what we seem to have a trustic problem. I'm trying to get home and I live in Wanu Yamata, and I'm trying to go over the hill and it's solid. I've been aw ster. I've been at a standstill for just on half an hour.

Well, first off, congratulations and thank you for calling me to ask me. Is this weather related? Know the weather? The weather's not bad? There is it?

No, it's it's grizzlian and yiki, but it's fine. This is only traffic related and miserable related, quite honestly.

So what is it you're asking me?

I'm trying to find out what's happened? Is there any traffic news anyone?

Is this the hell? Is this?

The Helen to Wuta, He's the big one that goes up here the main hill there's only one hill into Wanui, and it's obviously there's something wrong.

Has it been an excellent.

Question?

Mark?

I'm at the bottom.

All I've got is right, I'm questioning the information and I'm not seeing much.

Thank you.

All it says is why now you marta northbound? Why now we hell crash? Take extra care? But it's very light on Normally I tell you more information. Am I on the wrong website?

Dan?

Can you see something different there? You'll see what I'm seeing? Dan? Are you sounds to be like everyone's left in takers. Normally they give more information what time it was and who's been notified. So so it's very scant information.

Well I love it. That's that's wonderful. So take extra care. I'm taking extra care if I'm ever allowed onto the hill to be there?

How long have you How long have you been waiting?

Just over half an hour?

Have you seen any emergency services or anything like that?

No? And but I'm way down the bottom. I'm not even allowed onto the hill yet.

Okay, So how would that be? Like three days away? Would that be? How far you are away?

I'm on Wynwi Road, on the road that leads up to the hill, that I've just turned off White Lines East.

Just copy that.

Yeah, and then you get around.

Yeah, I will see you. Stay listening. I'll see if I can get some more information.

Lynn.

Anyone know anything more about what's happening on why Nuia matter? Is it a serious cresh investigator type thing? Oh, here we go, here's a good email. This is a great email. Sorry, text Marcus. The White Totra Pub has a bit of an attached a bit of attached history. Ruth Richardson's mother used to work there. A previous owner's son was done for drug careering. The pub has been flooded a couple of times in the nineteen seventies. It was advertised for sale a few years back. Do not know if it sold. Peter from Levin, formerly of White Torturer. That's great, that's great. Intell gosh, have you asked me to imagine anyone's mother working in the pub. The last person I would have said, Ruth Richardson, Marcus not saying I've done it. But if you go to a Chief's game, a Chiefs game at FMG Stadium on a wet day, you can upgrade your umbrella as everyone has to leave them at the stadium entrance. That's good to tell. Why no your Marta road, let me know about that, why Toto pub and also far extinguishes. There's three topics for you. Each is golden. I can't even visit your time in my life while I need an umbrella, never own one. Never own an umbrella or a pair of jendles. Hi Marcus from Oubwood Barley and during a Gin and Tonic watching the sunset, celebrating buying land to build a villa here and listening to your show. Good on, you're forgetting land. Watch out for the monkeys. Thank you for that, Chris. Chris enjoyed the cord about the Dordashians. Career drivers sit around talking about their feelings. Do you think they are quite good communicator as the Kadeshians the way they talk Billets Marcus, welcome, good evening.

You're going to any marks? You have?

Just a from past the old way toatra Fire sure, and I heard that you want to get some information.

About it, so here I am yeah, okay, And the right the main highway is not closed because sort off the main highway isn't Is that right?

It's just off the main highway.

So there's probably about two.

Hundred meters off the main highway. So I've got the road blocked offers going out to the watra. Who'd youre talking about the freezing work? Ye, the road going out to the freezing works the beach that's blocked off. But everyone's driving.

So you've got a good view of the fire.

And what can you tell me is it's still involved.

The fire was just absolutely ripping through the place, and and every every window obviously blind out, and the flames virtually almost shooting out of the shooting out of the top.

Hell, because that's that's been burning for three that's been burning since that's been burning for three hours. Yeah, they see half past.

H Well, i'll tell you what we've We've passed about four fire engines, so obviously coming in, say from Waverley, even maybe New Plymouth. And kind of funny thing was we were driving from Wanganui and we got behind the fire engine that was going towards it, and it was going so slow that we can'ds of flying out behind it. And then we actually saw it turned off and I think it turned off at the wrong place. It turned off at.

That's probably the volleys, because you would have got a good view coming across the bridge too, looking down at it. So it's still burning.

Oh we did, yep, yep, yeah still really you know, we would have passed it ten minutes ago. So I've stopped now on the side of the road. Yes, and so yeah, ringing in.

That's amazing, that's taken because there's about ten fire engines trying to put it out there getting water from Waverley, as you've probably heard.

But that, yeah, that sounds like ye we saw we saw the far engine that waven been filled up for little sort of way by the beside the shop, and we're in there filling filling up, and probably some of those foot engines we saw going out and had filled up as well.

So you'd imagine it would be a totally you I meagine the building would be a total right off, wouldn't you.

Oh?

Absolutely, yeah, absolutely. I mean it's just taken hold and it's well, I'm amazed it's been burning so long.

Yeah, me too, because there's just appears to be a brick construction. But I don't know. Hey, look, I really appreciate you, Bill, and thanks to your partner too, and thanks for calling over. That's pulling over. That's great news. Thank you well, great to get that report. Not great news twenty five past nine. Thank you people. Someone has texted, you're a true white man, never owned an umbrella. Well, that means tapoo to Cora Glen is a shock at the moment, especially for Camper. Van's best to stay pot. It's a daylight road, Cheers David. Other roadless traveled this time. Every year, I purchased Anzac tins and in recent years Anzac biscuits. Anzac m buckets full of Anzac Biscuits's my little contribution towards our military veterans protecting us. Tonight I offered my guests a plate of Anzac biscuits. They read the recipe on the tin, then declined because the biscuits were made with margarine instead of butter. And seven dollars a block of pems, but doesn't really matter. Thanks Mac. Marcus Paul here have been without power for two days. I live on the Kupe for it. Fucker Peter have been trying to get information out of North Harbor, but no answer. Someone says a lot of pubs have burnt down, Marcus insurance job. Well look when that's that's yeah, I've got no idea what was caused that fire? But of course they'll always be investigated. But yeah, oh it's hard to make money out of a country pub pen of country pubs for sale and Southland Jason Marcus welcome, however, right you could Jason your good things.

I want to talk about traffic. I'm quite passionate about the Auckland traffic system. Actually a lobby, a lobby for the week east week east west link back in the days, which was going to happen between only hunger the air end o who if you remember that. Yes, we could councilors some great plans. They wanted to put a little bypass in. Then it never happened either, But.

It was a little I want to talk about. It was a little bit. It was quite significant, wasn't it.

It was quite a significant bypass year.

Yes it was. It was a little It was a little bypassed. It was a major route.

Maybe we should have put a bit more time into it. Maybe that will they help our economy a little bit. We've got the country moving. Hey, I want to talk about Packeringer Road. Are you familiar Peckeringer Road. Yes, So they've got some private developments happening some some houses being built on Packering a road and every morning when I commute from Howick to the city, Packer Ranger Road is brought down to two lanes at peak hour during school drop off by private contractors with their cones. Who's auditing in the cones, Marcus.

Do you know the answer? Or is this rhetorical?

No?

I'm wondering who's auditing the cones? Who's auditing these private contractors who are blocking our roads off during peak hour? This is a major arterial and then out of East Auckland it's the only road once you get past that you'll find But you've got to wait now to get past it. And it's been going on for nearly a month.

Now.

Does living in how it's working in the city work.

Yeah, it does because if it's if a traffic is good, it's twenty five minutes we jump on the bus.

The bus is fantastic.

But at the moment the bus isn't fantastic because the bus lane down Packering or highway that's blocked too.

Because they're building a big bus inter change, aren't they. This is like a bus higher bus freeway type thing, is that right?

So that's the other side that's the other side of Tarakal Drive. So it's Tarakal going towards Box Copy. They're a big bus in to change. Yeah, the packeringer comes down.

From they do the reach around for the howarck to get on the busway? Would they?

Yeah, they are, they are.

But you know, in the meantime, you know, we've got we've got we've got thirty thousand people trying to move their way out of as part of East Ackland and move towards the city because that's where we work. Right There isn't any industry in this part of Eastokland, but so either But.

My theory is it's not going to get better any time soon.

Ever, well, it's probably fine. We've got four lanes. We've got well, we've got three lanes either side on peckering A Road. But what I'm saying is, at the moment, whenever works happen, whether it's private or public, public wouldn't be so bad. But who's allowing how the private sector to block off the roads with road cones and cause this traffic condition, Who's checking it, who's auditing the works that are happening, Who's the public audit happening to make sure that traffic's flying, because I don't see a problem other than idiot planning and people not controlling the placement of these road cones.

Nice to hear from you, Jason, Thank you for that eight hundred eighty nine text, looking forward to your contributions. On Easter Eve, Hi Marcus News says there was two diggers set on fire on Wednesday. Why, I taught at a quarry and a house there lately. Also fog fireman called out to seven fires, many more than usual. Where are you seeing that purchase? So news says there were two diggers. So where is it in?

Oh?

Is it in the local fong news? I wouldn't mind some more information about that. But yeah, that pub has burnt for a long long time. Six o'clock it's said they're in the heads and it's still burning a half past nine, still well, involved a lot of a lot of flames coming out windows and that sort of stuff. It's probably just a brick that's still standing. The whole rest of the inside has just been gutted. So the weather forecast strong winds, heavy run in thunderstorms, so heading the North Island parts of the South. I don't know how Nelson's going maybe someone could let us know Tomorrow Good Friday, the start of the four day Easter weekend. Easter Sunday isn't a public holidays, so businesses cannot legally charge you a shoo charge, and Zac Day on Friday and the Aussie election on May three. Interestingly enough, there is talk that we will have an election before the end of the year and Labors say they are ready for their campaign for a snap election. And the reason that I can ascertain as they are talking about a snap election is that things have become frosty between Winston Peters and Christopher Luxen. Bearing in mind Winston Peter's the Deputy Prime Minister of that role as the Deputy Prime Minister will end next month, so I guess the thoughts would be that because n Z First have had some traction recently with the profile Winston Peters has head as Deputy primisis and also for mister which will remain, but also to some of their attraction that they've had with that American playbook with talking about woken stuff like that, that they might want to go to the polls earlier. They might think that's their best chance to get returned to power. So yeah, I've got no idea how he thinks or what he thinks of, but I would say that it's definitely a possibility there will be an early election. I don't think we're due to go until October next year is the end of the three year cycle October November, so it would be early anyway. You might want to comment on that if you think there's a chance. So it wouldn't be National's call, is my understanding. The New Zealand first would engineer a disagreement with the government. They would put something on their table that would be unreasonable, they would not get agreement from National and they would withdraw. I presume they can withdraw their agreement to the coalition agreement. Next thing, you know, snap election. It's been a while since we've had one anyway that I've never seen it talked about until today, but something that's cropped up in some of the news stories. It is twenty to nine. Peter's Marcus welcome, Marcus good, Pete, thank you.

Yeah, Oh, what do you pull that card?

He's a students.

Well, I think he's pulled out of governments before and it's all fine.

He realized what we've got going. If he does, then got on my phone.

I need to vote.

From its basically, as we've got a city govern now he does that and twice is to cause Habecker from for our government we have now, I think it more brains to do that. I most been a bit of a box of of ginger beat the Marcus said he would. He's not their students.

So then why has he been vocal with his criticism of Christopher Luxon and his comments about trade wars and things like that.

Well, he's just trying to I think Winston is trying to study this ship. I think before, like he said, before you open up your mouth, you don't want to start to get into Donald Trump's arguments. They just settle.

So you think Winston Peters will sit quite happily as David Seymour is deeply Prime Minister and just go along like a good little fish.

I think he will. I think he agreed to that. If he's going to be like a spoil little kidby fearing to Winston about this, he will lose my vote if you if he scores a snaper rex On ever, vote from Hm again, because basically he doesn't get his way, He's going to split the dummy. He does that, he's just will blow his incredibility guarantee.

But it's also a chance for survival. He sees the poles really good. It's understanding he would strike.

Then he's trying to get a few poles to increase his hill. And first he'll go down the He'll go down the Googler real fast. You'll lose everybody's credibilities. You're going to rock the vote. You want a stable government, don't want to sort of stuff. It's not good, but not good double example.

But people have short memories.

You know.

People say I'll never vote from again, but next time he says something brilliant, they're all they're voting for him.

I've given my credibility. But if he pulls nepolition, he will never vote to gargain.

Thanks Pete, Dave, Marcus welcome, Yeah, good Dave.

I love to think in a little bit. Okay, I've only really just tuned in. But three years three years to me when we're going through this parliamentary process, which is expensive and well, I know it is what it is. It's a Westminster system, but I think it should go out for four years.

Marcus.

Every four years that's what I reckon about that.

I'm never quite sure the arguments either way, and I don't think I have an opinion.

Well, the only thing against is if we get a tier government or someone whom you really don't trust or is going to knowside of the economy, in which case I'd changed my view and it should be only three. But as we get a good stable government in and one whom you know, like the current mob, perhaps of their help, then I think four years is more.

The point you make if we get a terrible government, Well, if we get a terrible government, they're never going to be a majority either because no one gets over fifty percent. They'll always be in coalition partners. So the coalition partners can always pull out if they're terrible.

Yes, tail wagging the dog leads me down that even new even P in my opinion, has got to go. I don't like it. No accountability, and I think it's, as I say, it's a little bit of tai wagging.

But what I'm but what i'm the point I'm making, Dave, is that you want a four year term, right hmm. And I'm saying that it probably would be fine under m MP because if a government's terrible, the coalition partners would withdraw their support, so I would be going to the election early anyway.

I see what you're saying. Yeah, so it's going to be a collapse of the government, which is not a good for any country. Really, I mean if they have initially been elected, and yeah, it takes me paths back to first past the post with accountability.

Okay, I kind of don't. No one seems to be campaigning for first past the post apart from you.

Well, no, it won't only be me, surely.

I don't hear asking for it, Marcus.

It worked for decades. So I just want the first past of the post with accountability. You know, you've got a mob, you've got the menu, You've been voted for them. They're in the government and they're judged on theirs and they're off. I mean what I don't like to see me MP business as I say, I think there's too much. Well I've already said my case on that anyhow, Thanks.

Dave, appreciate it. Marcus Winston pinished star in a remake of Grumpy Old Men. Marcus, we enjoy a reckon Pinion. Thank you. Traffic updates, what a funeral company Wellington crash on the last bend coming into Wata. Traffic is billy moving, looks to be blocked. Avoid the area or expect a decent delay. Thank you for that. There's a lot going on. I've forgotten about that. So if it's a serious extent in the serious question, it will be there. That'll be closed for a while because it's just one of those one road in, one road out scenario.

Is there?

Whyma so here snap election labor you is in friskt the majority w and becomes prime minister. Heard it here first? Tell Jason to phone the Cone hotline. That's right, I should have, Marc. I just want to thank you for your great comforting show. You have helped me through my lovely nights. It must be lonely night since losing my dear husband a few months ago. I leave my radio on going all night. Thank you so much, Jackie, my pleasure, Jackie. I can remember playing at the White Total a pub and watching a drunken Dave Loveradge dancing on a table. The Neck Team are on the way home from Wanganui. Were you at a pub band? You must have been Port White Katou. I have had a string of suspicious fires over a few months. Hopefully the storm will stifle any piro attacks. Marcus, there is a crash on the way nu Yamata. Hell. Yes, we're aware of that. We're told by a woman who was in it. Weekend plan was to go to Umaca Air Show canceled to unbelievably. Plan B is to stay home in Wellington with a forecast of twenty five degrees on Saturday, Happy Easter. Word of warning to everyone, don't talk to anyone on Wellington on Saturday. They'll be weather bragging. Jason obviously doesn't know the traffic management works. The cones are signed off by local government, by local and government bodies, and the sites have to be signed off every hour to assure everything is to plan. It wasn't quite sure what Jason sounded like he was phoning for, like a commerce assignment or something. Anyway, just some more information about the fire from the texts Marcus High. Marcus just talked for mate. The fire is still burning. The latter appliance spraying water into the building shell. The water supply was the problem for Fire Brigade tonight. Year is Brent, I don't really know how the fieries work are presume they've got some water in the tank, but quickly they convert to a hydrant. Are there no hydrants there? Or is there a problem with the hyd I just thought every I don't really know anything about that. I presume outside big buildings they would there would be hydrants. Jason, the chief conehead of Hawick, Yeah, I don't know what that is. Marcus, Why don't we as a country appreciates spring swing bridges more than one? Or Tucky gorge is amazing? It's all I've thought about for many, many weeks. Now, where are the other great swing bridges? And once it's been a swing bridge suspension bridge, we gotta look at Opha. It's gonna be one of the great bridges of all time. That's stone and a swing and a suspension bridge. I believe even the writers of that UK program Yes Minster couldn't ride an episode on Winston. But as they get lost in finding out which does he hate the most of the journalists or the Green Party? There we go. But the big news tonight there's major crash going into Waio Yamato. The traffic's not moving at all. There hasn't for about an hour, maybe even longer than that. And the white toat to the Hotel of South taran Neki that's on fire. It's been burning from six o'clock and a phone ranger came thro about twenty minutes ago. It's still very much involved. So it's a brick two story Paban general store, the only kind of commercial premises in the town. But yeah, it's no longer. It doesn't appear as are there's buildings nearby, so it's not other buildings are dangerous. But it's just taken a long long time to put out volleys from everywhere. But twenty appliants is and it's three and a half hours six till half past nine, still going strong. But yeah, it's not the external thing. It's just must be a huge amount of material inside and that's flames twice the heart of the building. This picked some spectacular photos on Facebook. Have a lock here until twelve. Welcome Hello Fayet's Marcus, Welcome, Hi Faye.

Hello Marcus.

Yes, oh sorry you said miles away.

I am lookally miles away.

Where are you?

You're an awclor are you many? Yeah?

I live in a block of pitch in the units and that four of them got a checks on their smartphone to say that the pension will be paid on Saturday night.

And I read it out because.

Normally we did it Monday night, but Monday was a holiday, so we didn't get it normally on a Friday. We didn't get it on Friday because of holiday. I see we won't begin it till Thursday night. And I said, no, no, no, we've got a text. We're we're getting it on Saturday night. We've all got dixes and brot me down at some tonight.

So who's wrong?

All right, so when we're expecting it, but.

It should be in tonight because Friday and Monday are both holidays.

So it always gets paid on a Thursday. Or if someone gets paid on a Saturday.

No, no, no, a speech is get paid on a Tuesday night. Well sorry, Monday night, Monday.

Nay, it's four days early.

Yeah, when Monday's a holiday, it goes in and on Friday. But as Friday's a holiday also, it was going in tonight. And I told them that, but nobody wanted to believe me. They said, we've got a message from the whoever on the texts to say their pension will be in on Saturday night.

Okay, is this a good thing? By the way, why can't they just put it on the normal day, just pushing a button on a computer exactly.

I mean, they've had to put it in tonight because tomorrow's a holiday. But why can't they put it on a Monday on holiday.

Why can't they just put it in tomorrow night because it's just a computer.

Thing, exactly exactly.

They've got all the you know, are you worried? Are you worried that you have all this extra money over Easter?

No?

No, I don't worry about the money. I'm okay, I don't. I don't even worry about the money, do you.

Okay? So what Betty? What time? What time did it come in?

Mine comes from about half I see them.

Okay, I'll let everyone know. There we go, your money is there? People go by yourself a new freeview box. Hello, Betty, it's Marcus good evening. Hi Betty good.

Can you hear me?

Yes?

Now and clear? Thank you.

I think I'm just going to turn this radio.

Yeah.

How are you doing?

All right?

Yeah?

Good?

Thank you?

Betty.

It's definitely bustery. I'm here in Takapoona.

Now that's is.

Just a townhouse or something built in nineteen eighty three, and the window is just whipping around.

But it's lovely.

It's really nice taking any time off because I don't officially work.

Billy Billy, Is it windy? Is it windya? That it's ever been in the last twenty four hours? Has it just been steady for twenty four hours?

I think it's been. I think it's been pretty steady.

Okay, thank you, I think it has.

But I could check on the windy dot com. I hadn't heard of that.

Good.

Yeah, well everyone knows it's windy.

Yeah, it's all about the word.

I used to listen to you when you were with Lana Cocroft nineteen ninety seven. Wow, and you were on a breakfast breakfast show.

I was working as.

A courier driver.

Goodness, long time ago, wasn't it.

It was a long time ago, And oh boy, it was funny. It was great. You all had a you're all very different and great rapport and that was it was a lot of fun. They got me through those got me through those mornings. So now booking, oh yeah, booking dot com. It's not quite.

What was it you said?

Not uber eatch.

Air BnB. Yes, I was going to just talk about a recent experience, please and all right. So I'm renting this big house and I was staying here with my father and he's since moved on, and I'm here at the house and I've got this big rent to pay, so I'm trying to get a flat maid in and then I thought of, hold on this booking dot com.

I've used it before.

So I go through and I register and go through all the pilava, put the photos up and you know, a little bit of a description. Not really, they seem to chaz that up and do it for you. And I've even put starpool in there, which is but not even the fault you know, that was a plarva trying to take it down to anyway, long story short, I get to the part of the the online registration where I suddenly I have to be the homeowner or something like this, or there's all these sorts of checks and whatnot. I thought, oh, for God's sake, too hard, So I let it alone, forget about it. And I couldn't even download the yet. I was going through some clunky web browser on my phone, and then suddenly I get in the emails saying congratulations on your first booking, and I had a Frenchman arrived. I had a Frenchman chicken that day at three o'clock. I'd never moved so fast in my life, and I was nervous. I thought, God, there's no checks or anything in place. Fortunately it was a good experience. But then another booking, another booking, another booking, and I'm trying to update things about the spar pool and whatnot.

But so far, so good.

I'm dubious that whether I'm actually going to be paid.

So you live in the house as well, Yeah.

So just me here in the house. Anybody's looking for a place in takapooner, I tell you it's lovely, three bedroom, three bathrooms, built nineteen eighth three lovely.

So how long have people been tuning up for.

Well, just since I did it the other day.

Just the other day. Okay, so you will get paid. And I mentioned it'd be quite a good price for a night in Takapoona, wouldn't it.

Well, I that's the thing is trying to adjust the price. They tht you were just kind of percentages. Once it's kind of fixed, it's fixed. Well it is for me, you know, because you know, I'm just an old girl here.

You know, pretty how much I've forgotten the apple ID how much is how much is it a night?

Well? I think I had it at so they take a percentage of I'm not exactly sure, So I think I.

Had put it as eighty eight, like the couple eights.

I thought, that's okay, you know, nice, very months we you know, splaying the linens. And then it went down to I don't know whatever it is, because then you've got to attached to something for a special or.

Eighty eight and night sounds very very cheap.

Well, no, it's ended up being fifty someone arriving tomorrow. And I thought, I'm downstairs with underside frolice, white sheets and the old grubbing pressure.

You know.

Just see we're doing all this laundry and just for fifty five dollars for a girl riding tomorrow. It's just about giving me a nervous breakdown. But I can't seem to turn off the seating to sort of put this to rest, you know. I just I'd rather have the.

I'd rather have the.

Relaxing kind of concern about how I'm paying the rent, you know, instead of having these bookings coming through.

Sounds celeritic, sounds like the sounds like the makings of a sitcom there, Betty, But fifty dollars a week does sound very reason when you're doing bedding as well in linen cheapers. Just the update on the fire, a foreign emergency spokesperson, This is the fire at white Tautala fire. An emergency spokesperson said, ten fire trucks, six tankers in one ladder tracker on the scene while another is on the way. They're an excess of eighty personnel on the site. All people are accounted for and there are no injuries. The FENS spokesperson said the fire was contained about nine to fifty pm and now crews are dampening down hotspots. The building is pretty much destroyed, no kidding. It burnt for three and a half hours or three hours fifty minutes? Was a funo neither rail loop glenis Marcus good evening, Marcus.

My money went through at eight o'clock tonight, My super It might take a while for that lady, but it will go through because it was available tomorrow. But mine went through at eight o'clock tonight.

Were you expecting it? Were you expecting it.

Yeah, because I said on the recording, your money will be available on Friday. But when I when I punched in, my phone connected it went through at eight o'clock.

It's there.

Okay, So you do know with long weekends they do adjusted. That's the way it works.

Yeah. I'll be going under the knife soon too. With my hand. They're going to cut part of my hand.

Offs which part of They're cutting off.

The knuckle on my left hand and I'm left handed. Wow, I'm going to find it hard. And also I had a funny experience on a bus today, Marcus.

Funny, funny, weird, well.

Weird because we went into I went into town and the driver couldn't start the bus. It stopped and basically the bus was starting to go back down the hill. Oh God help me. And next minute the bus stopped. They started again. It was of course stopped starting. The bus started rolling back down the hill backwards, and she just managed to get it going again and it went up the hill again on Sales Street in town. Who what an experience.

Frightening.

It was frightening, Marcus. And I'm saying, don't bust, go, please, don't bust. The next minute she put her foot down and the bus took off. It must have locked on her brakes or something like that. But she got a alibi, Frid and I was the only one on the bus and I was hanging on him. Oh, I said, oh no, I hope she doesn't roll back down the hill, are you? But we got we got to the top and got to Queen Wellesley Street. All right?

Which knuckle.

My knuckle my left hand.

The one ring finger, the little finger, the finger of.

This the second finger. I can't straighten my hand properly. But it's it's hard to do housework. And it's because I have stairs in the house. Now I'm going to find it hard going up and down the stairs after it, so I might have to get a low level house, I think, because the bathroom's upstairs not downstairs.

Was it an injury?

No skin cancer?

Oh?

Hell?

That's right.

Hell.

And it hurts at the moment because I'm going to have to learn to write right handed and I'm left handed. So basically I do manage, but I find it very hard to do things in public, like when you punch your card, and to get you know, in the shops, to sign anything because I'm left left handed, so I.

Just removed I'll just remove that finger from the knuckle, will they.

They might have to do it and take I'm sorry, sin actually take a piece off the mother part of my body and put twenty tested is in my hand and I'm gonna I'm not looking forward to it.

When do you go in Glenness?

Twenty nights of April.

Go not long now will be the countdown, I.

Know, But I'll be all right. I've just got to think of things positive when I go under the knife. But just think that it'll be all right, because if I don't get it done, it'll travel up my arm to my heart and then bang that you know, being gone, Yeah, being gone, all right. But I just I'm trying to be positive. I'll go in there with a smile on my face and come out with a smile on my face.

I hope good on your gleinnis thank you good Reveal twenty six past ten, Marc is till twelve. The fire is contained, but the building is destroyed. There's going to be no other outcome there. What about Betty? Marc has just heard Bettyrehue booking dot com and feels she needs help us out fifty at night and Tuckapoona is way too cheap. Operate an Airbnb in charged five hundred a night. I have a fifty five star rating. I live in the North Shore and in Auckland. Could help bet his sort it out so she's in control. Happy for you'd pass on my number two her nick? Yeah, that's great neck, But I don't pass on numbers to callers because I'd hate to wait up in the morning and see a headline that says tuckapoo a woman murdered. But it was something like that, you know, I'd hate to forget. I mean, I'm sure you're fine, but I don't know. I can't fact check people. There must be a price set sort of button on booking dot Com, isn't there. Although the house didn't sound like the spar pool's not his house didn't sound that. I mean, how can I say this delicately? If I went to a house and there was like a spar pool half full, I think, well, actually, what's going on here? Is your fifty five? Marcus? The lady is wrong. The peachon payment goes in Saturday, not tonight. Sorry, Marcus, I'm wrong. It isn't tonight. Ops Peenchion is definitely in that should become a regular feature of the show. Is where the pinching goes ing. The two closest places to draw water are both on Taplin Key alongside the burning pub. The fire might have been too strong and hot to allow pumping from the river. Could it also be too hot to get to those particular Oh no, I can understand what you're saying, and quite a bit of interest in the snap election. I wish they wouldn't call it a snap election. I don't like that expression. I don't know why snap election. I don't know what else it should be called. Don't like the wood Snap's doing and that snap twenty five from eleven Good Evening, John Marcus, Welcome.

BELI I was listening last but and you cause Bunning to buy receivers for the television. I tried to row one today and sold out, and also every warehouse. I wondered that the someone I'm newis I could get one.

Did you say sold out in Northland? John? Is it what you said?

Yeah?

Not in time Norton.

Well that's a hassle at the warehouse.

Yeah.

So when you say the north of that's the funding a warehouse right.

Way, Kerry, Harry Dagaball none will sold out.

It's a real hussle, isn't it. Did they say when they get so you've got no TV at all?

No got no signal for all of these?

Yeah? Yeah, yeah. Do they say when they're getting them in?

Well, they just said a couple of weeks maybe, but only maybe.

I know that a lot of people have rung Dish TV who make them, and they seem to have been quite hands on with their customer service, so they might know and they might be able to buy one direct. That would be my only suggestion.

John, Oh yeah, okay, I'll try that.

Yeah, Dish TV. But look, yeah, but if you tried Harvey Norman and.

I'll try Noel Leaning but they don't have an.

That's the one I mentioned, So Sugar, if Noel Leamy haven't got is there Harvey Norman up in the North?

I didn't character.

I think that might be worth having a check out. But we'll keep listening. John, that's a good question. I'll see if someone else got something from me. That's a real blow. Marcus. Why Totra Hote Amazing Country pub Many a good night spent their public and ed the least for over twenty years and lived upstairs. Don't understand why they could not pump out of the river to fight the fire exactly might have been too hot. You get a bucket chain, wouldn't you. Oh, you got to film a bucket chain. No buckets. Rush down to the Waverley four square, get all the plastic buckets back there. Bucket chain, That's what I'll be doing. You'd fight to say, they mean this the town, the town will never get another pub. Ruth Richardson's mother worked there. Someone said about Betty with their airbnb, that Betty should close all the windows and doors and pretend to be out. She could hide in the empty spar pool.

Lua.

Luh, I'm not here. George Marcus good evening.

I was like, are you being served? I'll take two of those and five of those.

Frenchman was he? Anyway? It was he from Gersey. But anyway, welcome, yep, yep.

Now, while I talked to you about Sky, I just want to give you a bit of an update. I've did a bit of research about it all because I've played in the satellite game a little bit. Anyway, what's happened is that there was a new satellite to go up for sky put up by Office, but they haven't finished building the bag a beggar, so that's not up, you see, So they had to hunt around the world to find something to replace it. The Aussis did have a satellite that was being used by Australia, but to reconfigure it to New Zealand meant that all the Australians would have to reconfigure all the additions and point it to a different direction, and the Ausies were going to do that, so they couldn't use that satellite. So what they've done is they've gone to Korea and got an old career satellite called Korea SAT and they've dragged it over. It's fifteen years old, it's as old as the one that's dyed, and they've borrowed this thing big stealed it whatever, and dragged it across and stuck a tucked behind or in front of the existing one. So they've swapped the satellites over from the existing SAT one, which I think I explained was running out of gas that actually you know, propelled it to keep it.

So why is it Why is the Korean one not running out of gas?

Well, because it hasn't quite as bad as the one that using. It's like any electric vehicle cars with flat batteries. This one hasn't got quite flat battery. The Korean one. Of course, they don't want to use it anymore because it's unreliable anyway, they've puked this thing up.

Well, they probably don't want to use it anymore because everyone's on cable or fiber. No one needs satellite.

There's a lot of people that are not on fither, like up Northfold and all this, and.

I'm talking about in Korea, which is reconnected.

Yeah, yeah, Korea. The satellite that they were using has been drifted across for use by Sky in New Zealand, so now it's parked up in the same position as our dishes point. The problem is they've been able to get the Sky satellite service channels migrated across, they've updated everybody's electronically by air. They are decoders to work on the new satellite. But the problem is the freeview service has changed, not the actual signal but the encoding that's being used in this service, and so if you've got an older decoder, it doesn't understand the signal anymore. You'll like, I've got one home here and it's died and the signals level is good, but you don't get any because it can't interpret the signal that's being sent back down because they've modified it. That's where you're going to go buy a new.

One, although it doesn't appear to be that much of an ideal. It seems like you're seventy five bucks. You've got a new one apart from John and Northland that can't get one.

Yeah, but there's given a lot of people that go, well, what do I do when I get this thing home? How do I interpret all the instructions and make this thing all go? You know, you've got to follow it. You can't just plug it and make it go. You might be lucky if it does, but you've got to scan the satellites and tune it.

People said it to make people had said it's quite straightforward.

Well that's good, have you done it? It's just well, I've got four flaming d coders here of it. One that was working fine last week, but this week's died because it can't understand the signal. Because it's just an older one, old strong beer stronghold. It's strong and it's you know, it's got lots of features in it, but for understanding this freeview signal now it can't do it because it's too old. The encoding in the signal is wrong for the unit. The unit doesn't understand it.

A lot of people, a lot of people are asking why you haven't got cable? Have you got cable?

Of course I've got cable, but I'm not going to use up all my data on my on my on my object father cable just to watch TV. That's just done. And that's the issue that people have. They're saying, well, why can't you just put it onto your cell phone and get your your Sky go on your cell phone and chrome it to your TV. That's fine, but you watch your data disappear.

What would what would be the charge for What would be the charge for that? On your data.

Pack you'd want you'd want free unlimited data, which you will probably do if you're buying this seventy nine dollars plus packages on.

On opet fiber.

Good point, But.

For your cell phone, you're going to be paying one hundred dollars or more just to have data to watch Sky because of the amount of data that comes through don't forget some of those channels were half of them. They are actually high definition now, so the data rate on that's twice the amount. Then the other channels will got so like TV one two three four or TV one two three are all high definition, so the data rate coming through as twice as much as maybe you know, some of the other cheaper channels like TV watching food and reconstructing houses and a whole bunch of them. I've actually been through the first hundred channels, and I've got the information of how many of those. Just just bear with me, how many of those are actually high definition? How many aren't. Now the trouble with the high definition ones, they need a high quality signal, and so if you get rain coming through and the signal goes down too far, the high definition ones will die, but the low definition ones will keep going because they don't worry about it quite so much. I'm just letting you know you'll have occasions when some of your channels will disappear and won't work, and others keep going. It's because the quality of the channel is different between them, and so they need a better signal coming down For those channels. I don't know what's going to happen in two years time, when this career.

Is it's going to last for Yeah.

Well they're supposed to have had this year the new satellite, but it hasn't finished being built. It's supposed to be up somewhere by twenty twenty seven. Because this is only a two year interim, then it's going to have to change over again. But the new satellite's only designed to work until twenty thirty and at that point there's no guarantee that the satellite service is going to be kept going.

So how much did your satellite costs?

The satellite itself? Yeah, I don't know how much. The satellites they have millions of dollars for those beggars, hundreds of millions there probably, you know. But it's a service. But it's not just I forget. The satellite is not just Sky. It's got all sorts of Like the the Aussie one that we were using us at has got SBS service, which is a separate service for the Australians, a whole bunch of stuff for the Australians. We're only using a little bit of it for New Zealand.

Nice to hear from you, George. Thank you very much for Informative fifteen to eleven. Just the update from tonight is the fact that Cora mandels pretty much isolated. The roads up the west coast of the East coast are both closed because of flooding. Some of it's flooding from the road. Also there's closures at White Tongue, sorry at pay here and the Mungamuka road is closed. The other four road closures I've got for you. There was next and also earlier going into one Nuiya Mata, but that has been cleared. The other big uses the Waitotala Pub south Taranaki almost with the border of fang and Nui. That has burnt to the ground. So that's burnt for almost four hours with eighty personnel involved in combating that far. I'll tell you what, well, they don't meange to put it out. They was a much of a good job at all because the fire has burnt to the ground for a long long time. Someone said, I thought someone said there was trouble with water. I don't know if I've read that or someone rang up and texted that through. But yes, it's a long time to Yeah, three hours fifteen minutes they were getting water from the four square at Waverley, so yeah, and it's also I've I've looked fairly intensely at the town on the Google maps. So the pub was also the general store, so that's that town without that, it also appeared to be the place you'd go to. There's a freezing works down the river from there, so I think probably that's where you drink silver foond. That's we had drink from there also, so that seems to have gone or has gone. Landlord been there for twenty years, had the least lived upstairs. But you always are always a sad day when a pub burns down, because you know these days with drink driving and sky TV in the likes that once a country pub's gone, it's not coming back. Very hard way to make a living, you know, a quiz night there, there's no one going to turn up, is there. I let you probably survive on meals. If you do something legendary like a big pain of ribs, you get people from near and far coming, which is hard. Yecker, Adrian at Marcus Good Evening. Hello, Yeah, hy Adrien.

Okay, market I have a problem, and lots of kiwis have the same problem. Very shortly when you turn seventy five, you lose your license, a driver's license. You're going to go for a medical. I passed that. I was issued with a driver's license until I was eighty turned eighty, I passed it. I was issued with a river's license for the next two years. At eighty two, I failed the medical. I lost my license. It was deemed to be expired. Because I have no intention of traveling overseas anymore. I did not renew my passport, which is expired as well. Now there's no way I can identify myself without the methods that are available cost a lot of money. If you live in a retirement village, our personal allowance is fifty five dollars a week. Now I've got to spend in excess of two hundred dollars to renew. I think it's a license, but so is the one side of your license card has nothing to do with the license itself. It's an identity document. Can't the government do something about it and allow us to identify ourselves. The only government authority that still recognizes me is the taxman. I'd change the driver's license us in a manner which is very little cost to the government and no cost to the pensioner, or make us expired with the taxman. Both will be will make us very happy.

Have you explored any other options, Adrian?

I have, but they cost a lot of money.

What are those and how much do they cost?

Well? The over eighteen card is ninety dollars, the driver's license is well over two hundred dollars, so as the renewal of a pot sport, which is and they're all temporary, nothing is permanent.

I see this one and we're fifty five.

We're fifty five dollars per week income. It's a lot of money for a person, for a pensioner.

Have you explored the Kiwi Excess card?

What is the cost of that?

Fifty five?

Which is a week's income?

Sixty dollars? Sorry for a new card?

Sixty? Yeah, yes, well that's a week's income. Why they call? Why can't we use the one page, the one side of a driver's license as and as a legal form of identification. I'll tell you what. Originally or twenty six years ago, I emigrated here from South Africa. Oh okay, yep, So what happened is that I still have my original a birth certificate. So I presented my South African birth certificate which is eighty four years old. This thing is written in Afrikaans. The only words that any Kiwi or average Kiwi would be able to understand is my name and the word birth certificate and the data. Of course, they have accepted that there's no photograph on this thing. It is hand written in a foreign language. They accepted that as a form of identification. Is that not ludicrous to social governmentally government issues?

Okay? So this has become a bit of a rent from you, and which is fine. I mean, obviously are hot and bothered with us? What do you need your ID card for?

Well? In the second instance, when I wanted to open a bank account at Kiwi Bank, I had to identify myself.

So if you just have just opened a bank account, if you had a bank account, no.

I wanted to change from Wispac to Kiwi Bank.

Okay.

So now the second one is I wanted to buy myself a new computer and trade in my old one. They offered me T one hundred and twenty five bucks. But it so it's worth my wie. But the company that trades it in wanted an identify vacation document to make sure that the original one wasn't it? And then I agree with that? But none of those identity documents the trick.

So what do you think you'll do, Adrian?

Well, I think that they should just look at the.

What will you do? Will you? Will you get one of those q ex's cards? Will you bite the bullet?

I can't, I can't afford it.

Can you get a photo on your super Gold card?

I did that. They don't accept it.

Can we bank? Wond No?

And I wanted to buy the computer from no Lemming and the company who trades in my old one wouldn't accept that identification either.

How much is the computer?

How much is the cat to pain? I think eight hundred?

And someone says you can take your gold card with two letters to your address, your own called library and get your photo put on that. But you said that's not good enough. Have you got a real Have you got a real me account?

No?

I don't.

Do you want to hear about that? Or do you want to keep talking about what the government should do?

No?

No, no. After any solution, any viable solution, would be very welcome.

What says you identify yourself with a real me account for which you need either passport license or birth stiff. It costs nothing.

Where do I get that?

Does your computer still work? I? Does your computer still work?

Yes? I does.

I'd google that. Why don't you google that?

Okay, I'll do that.

It's called a real me account.

Right, Thank you very.

Much, and keep listening. Some some more wisdom for you, Adrian. But you're you're a tough customer. Wow, it'd be good reading talking books. Oh my gosh. We have just been through the same issue. To change medical providers have had to get new birth certificates and want a new passports on fortunate health is an issue terminal so unable to travel, hence to not renew the passports new medical center said required Ministry of Health, not the medical center. Have a great easter. You and your family had the same problem. The husband and no id sort out with getting photos on my gold card worked out perfectly. This guy is boring. I'm losing the will to live. Well, it wasn't that he had a It's a tough accent to hear, isn't it, Because it sounds quite not a lot of light and shade and it is that is there. That's my thoughts. But good evening, Darren Marcus.

Welcome, Hey Margaret, there are you?

Mate?

Good Darren, beautiful nightdown bluffers it beautiful.

Mate, just going back to the White coatri pub.

Mate, yes please, Oh plenty.

Of good nights and there make plenty of good nights.

You know.

One thing about the white Coat. You know you used to be able to go down there and write your name up on the ceiling, you know, with all now I'm serious. What's so funny, mate?

Oh? Just the things you're doing to keep it now? How would you and why would you?

You know?

How that public feel right? You name always would have always wanted to do. How would you do it?

Oh?

Mate?

It was good. We call them coming from Topol, come down back to Taraniki for a golf trip and we'll like, hey, Chris mate, the worst person used to have to drive the van. You have the van and don't get the hot dogs and you're in there. But when they reached the gown they were like, Chris, mate, I maybe he had the worst round todays. Rather in the van, can we saw some warm beer of the cold ones and get us a bit of chalk and writing up on the ceiling. It was funny, awesome, it.

Was awesome, Darren, I've got some questions for you.

Right, go for it, Darren, Mike, I sorry, long night.

How would you write your name on the roof?

Now you jump up on the bar ling and it was just everywhere there's a beautiful stags. He there's an open fireplace and I was a bit of chalk. They'll give you a bit of chalk and you just jump up there and then your buddy write your name on the roof.

With the hundreds of names on the roof.

There was thousands of names on the roof. Mate, How can I ask this other name because yours?

Yeah, I'm keen about it. So when was the last time yet? The pub?

Oh?

What have anyway? Three months ago the public at the well. I wouldn't get the hot dogs if all you but the public and was pretty good.

Yeah, Chris, Chris.

Is a good bag of He's a good bag and I hope he's all right, you know, because my books go with them in the family, you know, just most of that, you know.

We took him a long. I don't know why it burned so long.

Oh well, we've been funding back in twisand and four in swziausand and fifteen and then the river right next to it. Maybe the pumps are broken. I'm not too sure, but maybe a bit of silt.

Yeah, it was for sale. I'm just trying to see it's for sale.

Aird.

That wasn't so long ago.

You should have bought it, mate.

Honestly, imagine having a country public.

The bluff oysters for buddy white bait.

You know you.

Don't at the public living in the morning with the same three guys. You have to hear their stories endlessly at the Can you mention it how boring it would be?

Ah, really get live.

Enough at the night time of the days. It'd be a struggle, wouldn't they.

Well I suppose, you know, and they'd go buy police slowly. But iuppose if you get a good ground and they'll go pretty fast with a good night. Imagine.

What's your question?

My question is when you need to get the author rols going back again. I went through from Shepherd Determine early one night and before it all shut down, and you know, I just want to roils back. You know, I think most of the theater is doing a good job.

What do you reckon?

Brilliant not coming back down? But thank you nineteen past eleven, anyone got any more suggestions for Adrian? Cheapess Come on, mate fifty five and you're happy to spend eight hundred on a computer? Exactly That's what I was thinking, just internally dissatisfied. Come on, mate fifty five and you're happy to spend eight hundred and computer. Go to MSD. They will cover the cost of ID. It may be recovery, but better than nothing. Marcus, I lost my license the other day. They want a passport, but mine was out of date. Couldn't find booths of it. A guy wouldn't accept in my bloody card with photo with ID for the council. He said, you can't ide yourself. You can't get a license. I hear the guys paying Tania. What we all need is a chip embedded us somewhere. Will that sort things out? Then the chance of that happening are quite slim. People don't go on about the chip with the mark of the beast anymore, do they. Before we had the indie in conspiracy theories, it was all anyone talked about. But not so much anymore. They've got more exciting conspiracies. I'm desperate to find a shot of all the names on the roof on the ceiling of the White Totra Pub. Can someone help me out with that. I'll google interior of White Toats at a hotel. But yeah, that's legend. I mean, love to write on the roof. I guess it's something someone started one night's becomes a thing like there was that pub down there. We had put your put your cap on the roof or something. I'm just seeing. Look is looking at the accommodation. It's like wild wave beards. Looks pretty old school public barrel type. And if you want to add to the general malarkey tonight, it'd be nice to hear from you. Well, here's a shot. Try to see what's in door with a roof. I think I might have found it. Well, I found something about it, but it's the wrong pub. So lad is with the White Toata Pub. They finally got it out after three hours fifty minutes. No one is injured, so that's a situation. I can't quite work out why they couldn't get the water from the river, but ten machines and eighty staff were there for that to try and extinguish it. Yeah, but I'm not quite sure why they had to go to Waverley for water. I don't really know too much about fire hydrants. I've never already thought about it. Probab presume that most buildings fire hydrants would be outside that would have unlimited water. Would they well, I guess it depends on where why Toatra gets their water supply from. There's some of the questions we are asking tonight. I'm also kind of fast dat by that woman that next to you put a house on Airbnb and Tuckapuna, which is a fitty up market suburban or near the beach. Yeah, we're the near where them on Desire once was. But she put it up on extent and people are coming to stay for fifty five dollars a night. She can't change the price she's got to put out, you linen, So imagine the sort of people you're looking. They're looking googling Tuckapuna and thinking, well, let's go there for fifty five Marcus Adrian didn't tell you the fully funded residence and care surrender their pension to help pay the eighteen hundred dollars a week weekly fee. They're allowed a maximum of two hundred and seventy four dollars in their bank accounts. The reason that is hired to allow some money for inheritance of desire that is generous. They also get an annual clothing lump. Some Yes, he did seem mean natured. I thought, is that opinion or is that fact? Anyway, It's not normally like me to make judgments like that. But it did go on and on about it. He didn't seem to have done the work either to research something. He seemed inflexible with his thoughts. Hard life. Being a saffer by the sounds of it, moved to our countries, start complaining fifty dollars is too expensive. I'm thirty solo dad, rent my own home for my daughter, I with fifty hours a builder and have nine dollars left to my name once I pay my bills a week. I live off my company vehicle and flatmate's rent. I like to talk about different things you get in different pubs. But I'm reading in a book about the White Tota the hotel. It says the attractive public bar features a high ceiling cross by wooden beams on which you've been stamped. The names the names of local stations presume that ship stations. Curiously given the height of the seeing. Locals and visitors somehow managed to add their names and chalk to the station names, making the barfield re personal. It's big water no longer it's spunt for so long. It's got like a mirror ball in the roof and the stag. He talked about love a different pub. You can do different things. Carol Marcus welcome.

Oh hi Marke does Carol from Plumbos?

Hi?

Carol from your plymouth?

Yeah. The other path I was thinking about was the Pooh Holy parts when used to have stored oust on the floor. Goodness, do you remember that?

I don't remember the sword dust?

Yeah, well, anyway, it's a good it's still a good pump. But in the days when the sawed our stone floor was just amazing.

Actually, I don't know, look like to me.

Plan Cluriac anyway, somebody else.

Might I know they had a wood I know they have wood chopping there. I don't know they had sawdust on the floor.

Uh that wood chopping.

I think they would. I think it's big for I think it's on the wood chopping circuit. Okay, all right, okay, thanks Carol listening. Yeah, now this is something that might be of interest to I meant to read this article earlier, but I didn't, so I'll read it now. The web telescope detects a possible signature of life on a distant world. A distant planet's atmosphere so shows signs of molecules that on Earth are associated only with biological activity, a possible signal of life on what's supposed to be a watery world. The peer reviewed report Astrophysical Journal represents more questions than answers, acknowledges numerous uncertainties, and does not declare the discovery of life beyond Earth. But the authors do claim to have found the best evidence to date of a possible bios signature on a planet far from our Solar System. Planet's called K two eighteen ber ten or twenty four light years away. It's orbiting a red dwarf star. Earlier observations suggested that atmosphere is consistent with the presence of a global ocean. It's containing dimethyl sulfide DMS. That's the molecule. It's produced by the decay of marine photoplankt in another microbes. There's no other known source. I don't know how they could tell that that was there, but I presume they can tell that from some color. Tell you what. I am interested of doing a lot of reading about all the trouble they're having an Ash Burt with lake hood. Wasn't this a man made lake? Isn't it the developers problem with what's gone wrong with it? I can't quite work Look to me, these faked lakes are always doomed to fail, like that one on Pigasus. They never work. So I can't quite work out why they're expecting the council to spend all the money to get it going again and taking up water and stuff. Yeah, man made opened by Jenny Shipley, and there's some nice houses there, but they're all houses built around a lake that looks a bit sketchy to me. So yeah, if you've got something to say about that, get in touch, Big Houses high Fay Marcus welcome.

Oh hi Marcus. I just wanted to say what a gem of a call Darren was. Yeah, really nice bloke, I reckon I give it a show up in the back of he only had one. It sounded like they're really cool.

Yep.

Yeah, and hey, just with that business with that guy, was you know, being able to have id It is kind of becoming an issue for older people. Because my partner's ninety and we went to do our wills not long ago, and he didn't because he hasn't renewed his license and he hasn't been renewed his passport. There's a bit of an issue with finding ID for him at a lawyer's office.

So there you go.

Chip's a good idea.

Yeah, well, I think too also there with money laundering there so kind of I mean they're rightly kind of concerned about that so they're very cautious about doing anything now, but it does make it complicated for sure.

And the other thing, we've booked to go to pere Brim this weekend. I mean, you can cancel it, right, but you're going to lose your dough if you don't go.

Yeah, well, I think someone said on booking dot com you've got forty eight hours or something, but I don't know if that's true.

No, Yeah, they put dates on them now, so yeah, I think we're yeah, if we don't go, where we lose their dome?

Is the weather not?

Is it weather not looking good for the weekend?

Faith, I don't think it's too bad, you know, down sort of pair bram Ariat, but you know it might be okay for Saturday.

Well I think Saturday Wellington's got twenty five degrees.

But where are you well at the moment?

Oh okay, okay, it's a long way.

You're sure pretty bad here, is it?

Well?

Yeah, it's windy and blowing and raining, but anyway is what it is.

Off we go tomorrow.

So when are you making the decision? We've already decided.

Pretty much to carry on with it.

Is anything to do?

That?

Is it?

If you got anything in mind to do there?

Well, we've got family there, okay, but they've got a big house with more family, so that's probably not burning them. But we don't take the train, to be honest. It's another thing. We thought we took them on the train to Wellington because he new have been on the train toform. But they've stopped the trains.

I hear.

It was the train. The train wasn't going that what train?

You know, the train from brim to Wellington?

Oh?

I you meaning not a plane from Nelson? Yeah, but probably buses replaced trains. Always there's every holiday they seem to be making this year. That's a good point. Well, yeah, last time I came down this year that we try to get the train but we end up more on the bus. They're doing line work or something. It was annoying.

Yeah, very but anyway, we'll we'll get to the Papa or something like that.

Yeah.

And as I say, they reckon said day on Wellington. It's the best in the country. Twenty five degrees in sunny, So.

Well there you go.

Yeah, we ever got easter. Anyway, very nice to hear from you before the end. But the big news this is the white total of pub that has burnt down. That's just on the border between wang Annoy and Taranakiot's between Waverley and Part Tier. I think, good evening, Michael, it's Marcus welcome.

Yeah quite coming on. I could I have been there because I've got family and Ashburton and I don't want to speak negatively of it because people do pretty.

Like living there.

But I found that the lake was quite stagnant.

Yeah horrible, Yeah, really horrible.

And they've got all these ducks and geese that go to the toilet and yeah.

Because and they never seem to work out man made lakes because they don't seem to flush themselves that it seems to be not kind of self perpetuating or something.

Yeah, like when there's no movement in the water, then then staying that, yeah, yeah.

And I don't even know what how you can manage to take water from rivers to make a fake lake seems an out office lape seems weird to me.

And it's got like gravel roads, which is quite dusty, and when you drive around and I had a.

Good one around there. I quite like the suburb of the setup, but spoilt by a lake that seemed to be a bit of a dud. M Okay, any plans for Easter, Michael.

No, I've saw of a movie and maybe we've got some time and maybe I always wanted to talk about it.

You've come up with a plot for a movie.

No, I'll sawt up a movie.

Tell me.

Driving the troll, throwing the t true think the True fall length of New Zealand and a fall of the name Signpost a Signpost and the movie starts on Bluff, New Zealand and it's a couple of guys. This is made up, that's not true, you.

Know, But yeah, Michael, what I mean? But yeah, we haven't got time for it tonight because I know about thirty seconds, but another night we'll have that in full because I'll be into that. That's it for me, people, and haven't got Easter. I'll be back Tuesday. I do Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. That's enough for me. That's twelve hours next week. Gosh, almost hour bragging. There wasn't no, but it doesn't seem like much, does it. Goodness, catch your Tuesday, people, Enjoy your Easter, enjoy your board games.
