MAESTRO ON THE MIC….

"Sorry about that Chief" but we had a short break…about six weeks or thereabouts.  But we are back with more good music and interviews starting with artist Tracey Roberts and then speaking with author Lauren Williams.

We chatted to lunatic artist Tracey Roberts about her exhibition before it blasts off to the moon for permanent residency.  You can catch her art work at the Magnet Galleries, Docklands and in particular her performance on Friday 24 July from 7.00 p.m. at the same venue.  Tickets available through Trybooking and Tracey’s website. 

 We played some older and new Australian music with one newie from the Rolling Stones. They show no signs of being in an aged care facility. Foreign Tongues is one of their better albums.

The main act however was Lauren Williams talking about her first novel NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH.  Published by Affirm Press and consisting of 374 pages this is writing of the best kind. Engaging and has the reader believe they are in the story too. A Supreme Court judge is found murdered with his ring finger cut off. Neighbours peek through their blinds. What do they see? Plenty of twists and turns…Lauren spoke of wanting to be a writer from when she was little and the journey she took getting her first book published. She’s been an actor, lawyer, diplomat and more.

We interviewed Lauren Williams about her first, but not last, novel called NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH.  Lauren took us on her journey as a five year old writing stories and continuing the discipline throughout her life as an actor, diplomat, lawyer, journalist and a museum communications manager. Her book was shortlisted  for the VPLA Unpublished Manuscript award.  This book has twists and turns and has you questioning ‘the system’ and power and the many faces we all have.  What you see is not necessarily what you see. This looks to be the first in many books showcasing her Homicide detective Priyanka Pal in full flight.
