What we did today:
Saturday 14 February, 2026
We interviewed Dan from the band Dole Manchild about raising bushfire awareness and fundraising for the survivors of the recent bushfires in Victoria. If you could donate $5 or more through Dole Manchild Bushfire Compilation at Bandcamp you will add to the coffers and helping out those victims of bushfire. Dan also spoke briefly about the band and their music which is available in the usual hot spots. We played a track from their catalogue….
6. Little song – Dole Manchild
7. Creswick – Mast Gully Fellers (The Great Divide)
8. You’re always there – Kerri Simpson (Maybe By Midnight)
9. She is still beautiful – Broderick Smith (Man Out Of Time)
10. There is a field – Kavisha Mazzella
11. Boys in town – Divinyls (The Essential)
Larry Writer spoke to us about his co-write with Chrissy Amphlett which covers her life story and focuses primarily on her life as a rock and roll star in Divinyls. Pleasure And Pain is published by Hachette and consists of 383 pages and photographs.
There was a lot to talk about and so we touched on her going to jail in Spain and Sydney; sacking a band mate, the usual drugs and alcohol and there were heaps more we did not have time to get into. She had a rich and colourful life which was cut short by MS and then breast cancer. This is a warts and all look at her life. Larry also told us about the origins of his surname and about some of the 18 books he has written.
12. Pleasure and pain – Divinyls (The Essential)
13. Bartender – Highway 95
We spoke to local legend Edward Nass about the concert in Berwick this evening organised by BADFolk. Also about some of his new music and being placed as a finalist in a song writing competition in Geelong.
14. Should I go before I go – Edward Nass (Facebook Friends)
15. Leave a light on – Highway 95
16. Poland’s lament – Floyd Thursby with Dan Witton and Harry Lye (Every Days Another Dance)
17. Friend of mine – Ron Callaghan
Next Saturday 21 February we will be speaking to Kelly from Pepper Creek Revival about their new album It’s All Been Said.
Thank you to those listeners who text, emailed or rang in during the show.
