What if one decision changed everything? For Charlie Pomee, it might have been picking a microphone over a football. The singer, FLAVA host and proud South Aucklander was once in the Warriors' development system, dreaming of pulling on the jersey, until injuries steered him toward music and a career as one of the country's most recognisable entertainers.

It started, like so many of these do, at the 1995 debut against the Broncos, his dad, the fireworks, the confetti, Dean Bell leading the team out. But Charlie's story has a twist the others don't: he grew up playing alongside childhood mate Manu Vatuvei, both dreaming of the NRL. One became a club legend. The other still wonders, just occasionally, what might have been.
