This initiative in collaboration with the South African National Parks is part of a vast programme to re-wild 2000 rescued rhinos from a private farm in South Africa. This amounts to almost 15% of the remaining global population of the species. The rhinos were in jeopardy of being poached or split apart as part of a liquidation process and were at serious risk of being lost to conservation forever.
