Local councillor in the Mandeni Municipality Kuben Naicker says the seven family members that were found brutally murdered were major contributors to the Newark community, north of KwaZulu-Natal. He says that the Monswamy family ran a construction business that helped many people. The bodies of the seven family members were found dumped in Melmoth. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the grisly crime.
