By Newsbreak Producer, Tashlan Naidoo - The Pietermaritzburg High Court has dismissed the applications by former president Jacob Zuma and French arms company - Thales - to declare that they will not get a fair trial following the death of key witnesses. Thales has argued that the death of their directors in South Africa in the 1990's and early 2000's - make it impossible for them to challenge the states' evidence. Zuma and Thales are facing charges that include corruption and racketeering in connection with the multi-billion-rand arms deal in 1999. Judge Nkosinathi Chili has adjourned the corruption case to the 4th of December. Zuma's petition to the Supreme Court of Appeal against the dismissal of his application for the removal of the lead prosecutor, is also still pending.
