By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - Children's rights advocate and Director of the Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children, Dr Shaheda Omar says while statistics indicate a high rate of violence against children, the numbers are much higher due to under reporting. This comes as South Africa marked the start of the 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children, yesterday. A recent report by the United Nations Children's Fund or UNICEF found that 58% of children between the ages of 5 and 16 have experienced direct victimization of sexual abuse.
