Just two kilometers from the Wild Coast Sun in the Eastern Cape, on the picturesque beaches of Mzamba, lies an extraordinary 80-million-year-old fossilized forest. But this isn't a forest that towers above you; rather, it's one you walk upon, with ancient trees and marine deposits preserved within the rocks beneath your feet. This unique site has recently drawn significant attention, with the Wild Coast Sun Resort hosting a guided tour for staff, local municipality officials, and various conservation groups. The aim is to highlight the immense historical and geological importance of these fossil beds and to push for their protection.
