Urdu Adab SA is set to hold its inaugural ceremony at the Al Ansaar Hall on West Road in Durban. Despite a long and proud history among many South Africans, particularly those of Indian descent, the Urdu language faces the threat of decline. As English and other official languages dominate, efforts to revive and promote languages like Urdu are more crucial than ever for preserving a vital part of our national heritage. This event serves as a call to action, reminding us that cultural preservation isn't just about museums and archives, but about the living, breathing languages that connect us to our past.
