Hindu devotees in South Africa and from around the world are celebrating Diwali also known as the Festival of Lights - one of the most important events on the Hindu calendar. During the festival, Hindu families gather for prayer, lamps are lit and food is prepared which is shared with friends and neighbours. The colourful firework displays which light up the night skies, are part of the message of positivity and hope.
