This month The Department of Health received the first batch - or 37 thousand 920 doses of Lenacapavir. More is expected soon- as part of the Global Fund's pledge to South Africa of 900-thousand-doses. The medication has been hailed as a gamechanger in the fight against HIV- because a bi-annual injection has an up to 100% efficacy rate to prevent the contraction of HIV.
