By Newsbreak Producer Shanell Daniel - The family of slain Vyaksha Sookdew have welcomed the sentencing of her killer and then-boyfriend, Sugendran Rodney Naicker, however they say there is nothing that will bring her back. Naicker was recently sentenced to 23 years' imprisonment after pleading guilty to Sookdew's murder at Durban Magistrates' Court. In December 2023, 35-year-old Sookdew was bludgeoned to death by Naicker a few days before Christmas with a four-pound hammer at her Havenside home, in the south of Durban.
