This as the death toll climbed to 109, with 94 fatalities in the Kerrville area alone. Search and rescue efforts, involving helicopters, drones and responders from various agencies, are ongoing in the widespread destruction, while questions surface regarding the adequacy of prior flood warnings. Meanwhile, New Mexico also experienced severe flooding, with a flash flood emergency declared in Ruidoso and rescue operations underway.
