KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, says law enforcement officers are intensifying inspections to crack down on unsafe scholar transport. Their efforts paid off when officials rescued 36 schoolchildren who were found crammed into an overloaded minibus taxi in Park Rynie, south of Durban. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was fined. Authorities say the operation sends a strong warning that unsafe vehicles transporting learners will not be tolerated.
