By Newsbreak Senior Producer Taresh Harreeparshad - Civil rights group Siyafana Sonke says government should do more to protect legally documented foreign nationals in South Africa. Last week a group of legally documented foreign nationals- settled outside the Department of Home Affairs Office on Che Guevera Road in Durban- experienced violent clashes from groups calling for their removal. Siyafana Sonke activist Dr. Lubna Nadvi was present on the day. She says legally documented refugees have a right to safety in the country... 

*Meanwhile, the Veteran's League of the ruling ANC has condemned the scenes outside the Department of Home Affairs Office on Che Guevera Road in Durban. In a statement the Veterans League said: The language and conduct used on the day evoked the dangerous logic of ethnic cleansing. Such words and deeds have no place in South Africa. The Veterans League described behaviour as completely at odds with South Africa's history of constitutionalism, non-racialism, human dignity and the rule of law.
