By Newsbreak Producer, Tracy Valaydham - The family of the late ANCYL Secretary General Sindiso Magaqa, has welcomed the arrest of the 55-year-old former municipal manager of the Umzimkhulu Municipality in connection with his 2017 murder. Zweliphansi Sikhosana has appeared briefly in the Umzimkhulu Magistrate Court. He is facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder as well as firearm related charges. Magaqa was wounded in the attack and died in hospital months later. Sikhosana's arrest comes weeks after hitman Sibusiso Ncengwa was sentenced to 25-years imprisonment after pleading guilty. Magaqa's brother, Lwazi, says the family is disappointed that they were not in court during the proceedings. SABC Reporter Fanele Mhlongo has more details .....

That's the observation of the South African Ram Bhajan Association (SARBA: pron SARRR-BA). Ram Bhajan is a devotional practice of playing vibrant music while telling the stories enshrined in the Hindu text: the Ramayana. In conjunction with the South African Hindu Maha Sabha the SARBA will be holding a Ram Bhajan festival in Durban this Sunday. SARBA secretary Deshnee Reddy explains how the festival is encouraging South African youth to make better life choices...

This is how many are describing the loss of film-maker Kumaran Naidoo who passed away at the weekend at the age of 52 in Johannesburg. Known as the brains behind the Broken Promises franchise- Naidoo was focused on telling local stories on the big screen. Born in Chatsworth, south of Durban- Naidoo went on to produce five installments of Broken Promises- that went as far as taking the local box office by storm. His production company Garuda Productions was responsible for other unforgettable films like Run For You Life and The Curse of Highway Sheila. His colleague and close friend Prian David says that no date has been confirmed yet for his funeral....
