By Newsbreak Producer, Tashlan Naidoo - A second state witness has taken the stand at the trial in the Durban High Court of uMkhonto weSizwe Party member and alleged July 2021 civil unrest instigator Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla. Zuma-Sambudla pleaded not guilty to one count of incitement to commit the offence of terrorism and two counts of incitement to commit public violence in charges related to the 2021 when the trial started yesterday. The state's first witness Major-General Gopaul Govender - who is the Hawks' national co-ordinator for Unrest Investigations - testified that although Zuma-Sambudla had no links in setting up the WhatsApp groups which allegedly incited violence, she however acted in common purpose, with those who influenced the looting and destruction.
