By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - A seasoned local and international athletics coach from KwaZulu-Natal says more grassroots development is needed in order to sustain the progress made on the international stage. Team South Africa recently competed at the World Relay Championships in Guangzhou, China, with the men's quartets claiming gold in both the 4 by 100 and 4 by 400 meters. The women, meanwhile, picked up bronze in the 4 by 400 meters. They closed with two gold medals and a bronze, and were the only country to have won more than one gold medal. Coach, Chris White also says for SA athletics to thrive - there needs to be less politics at an upper management level...
