Preparations for this year's Comrades Marathon have switched into overdrive this week as over 21-thousand runners are expected to participate in the 50th up-run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg on Sunday (14 June). The expo at the Durban Exhibition Centre opens on Thursday (11 June) where runners can collect their race numbers while enjoying the buzz of excitement. The official distance of this year's race is 85 kilometres and 55 metres, compared to the usual 89-point-98 kilometres. Dries Liebenberg reports . . .
