At the weekend, civil society organisation "Defend South Africa" marched to the Union Buildings where they handed over a memorandum calling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to step down. Meanwhile: The Umkhonto weSizwe party launched an urgent application before the Constitutional Court challenging President Cyril Ramaphosa's decision to place Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu on special leave. In papers filed before the apex court on Friday, the party argues that the President's decision is irrational and inconsistent with his obligations as enshrined in the constitution.
