By Newsbreak Producer, Taliesha Naidoo - Public sector unions affiliated to labour federation COSATU have given the Government Employees Medical Scheme seven days to reverse the nine point eight percent premiums hike for 2026. They staged a demonstration outside the GEMS headquarters in Pretoria. The union  has described the increase as unlawful and unaffordable.
