By Newsbreak Producer Hoosen Ebrahim - The KwaZulu-Natal south coast is on high alert as the annual sardine run gets underway, drawing increased marine activity and renewed safety concerns for beachgoers. They say that the adjusting of shark safety nets is in operation as shoals move north along the coastline. Early sightings confirm sardine shoals reaching areas such as Port Edward, with movement now tracked toward Margate and Shelly Beach. This seasonal event is also attracting sharks, dolphins, and seabirds, creating intense feeding activity offshore.
