According to Statistics South Africa, the unemployment rate for young people aged between 18 and 24 exceeds 60 percent. A South African distance learning institution is introducing an online challenge to mitigate the high unemployment rate. The Koa Academy Online Entrepreneurship Challenge is equipping children as young as nine-years-old with the skills to build and launch real businesses. Over a period of five weeks, participants are guided by experienced entrepreneurs and investors, with theoretical and practical business skills.
