By Newsbreak Producer, Tashlan Naidoo - The Pietermaritzburg High Court in KwaZulu-Natal has dismissed the application of former president Jacob Zuma and French arms company Thales to be acquitted. Judge Nkosinathi Chili made the ruling earlier this morning. Zuma had applied for leave to appeal Chili's earlier ruling in which he dismissed their application for acquittal. Zuma had joined Thales in the application for acquittal. Zuma and Thales face charges of racketeering, corruption, fraud and money-laundering related to the 1990 controversial multi-billion-rand arms deal.
