Following last month's devastating floods, that claimed the lives of at least 22 people - a state of disaster was declared in KwaZulu-Natal. Meanwhile, a 54-year-old Durban pharmacist, Vanitha Jeawon, was amongst the victims of the KZN floods last week. She was traveling from work in Hillcrest to her home in Pinetown on Thursday when her vehicle got submerged in a river near Sarnia. Her body and vehicle were recovered on Friday morning by rescuers. First responders during the search and rescue included ALS Paramedics. Operations Director, Garrith Jamieson, recalls the events that led to Jeawon's recovery
