#PODCAST eThekwini municipality urges Durban beach goers to use child armbands to prevent holiday separations

by Newsbreak Producer, Tashlan Naidoo - The eThekwini Municipality is urging bathers making use of Durban beaches to utilize its armband service for children should they be separated from their families. The armbands will contain crucial details of parents or guardians and can be secured at various marked points along Durban beaches. Around 200-thousand armbands have been procured. Child minders will be present to assist any family, while beach guides and extra security personnel have been deployed to ensure minimal incidents. Senior Law Enforcement Officer at eThekwini Municipality, Princess Xulu says it is very common for children to become separated from their families during this time of the year due to the high number of bathers, but so far, the numbers are lower than the previous year....
