According to Statistics SA, the prevalence of disability in South Africa has decreased from 7.4% to 6%. Durban based non-profit organisation - Saint Giles - says the stats are not a surprise. Spokesperson Prenessa Nalliah says disability awareness is very important when it comes to breaking stereotypes and overcoming preconceptions regarding disabilities. She says they are encouraging all South Africans to break the stigma around disabilities by first having a conversation to drive awareness...
