By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - Durban born Sadie Kandan has been chosen by the Tamil Nadu Government in India to participate in a two-week cultural tour across the state. The program aims to showcase the rich tapestry of Tamil civilisation and re-connect the diaspora with their roots on a deeper level. Sadie will also be conferred by the program with the title of "Cultural Ambassador of Tamil Nadu" upon the conclusion of her trip. She is the Secretary of the Shree Veeraboga Emperumal Temple at Tongaat north of Durban and Executive Member of the South African Hindu Maha Sabha. She has been involved in promoting Tamil culture in South Africa for many years and is passionate about youth empowerment.
