By Newsbreak Producer Tracy Valaydham - The Shri Anantha Muthumariamman Temple in New Modder, Benoni in Gauteng is appealing to the community to help raise funds towards bringing a Murthi from India to South Africa. The Murthi is a physical representation of the Hindu deity goddess mariamman or mother. The fundraising campaign includes raffles, markets, food sales, corporate sponsorships and community events, with devotional music and a dance concert planned for the 24th of October 2026.
