By Newsbreak Producer, Taliesha Naidoo - President Cyril Ramaphosa has instituted a Commission of Inquiry into allegation that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has ties to criminal gangs and interfered in investigations into politically motivated murders. He has also placed the Minister on special leave, while appointing Lawyer and politician professor Firoz Cachalia as acting Police Minister with effect from the first of next month. Meanwhile, Mchunu says he's ready to respond to the allegations against him. The President made the announcement in an address to the nation last night.
