Shelters play a fundamental, mitigating role in responding to, and addressing violence against women and children. Shelters are sometimes the place left for many women and children. They offer safe accommodation and provide opportunities for healing and re-building. Newsbreak spoke to the National Shelter Movement of South Africa (NSMSA) which is the umbrella body for over 100 shelters across the country.  NSM Coordinator, Anisa Moosa explains what typically happens at any one of the shelters that they service should a women or child ever need help....
