The CRL Rights Commission has begun it's public consultations with different religious groups about it's impending Section 22 Committee- which seeks to form a self-regulatory framework for the Christian sector in the country. This is also extending to other religious groupings. But there has been growing push-back against the move. The South African Church Defenders filed papers in the Johannesburg High Court seeking to interdict the Commission's activities, while also calling for the removal of CRL Rights Commission chairperson Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva. Hindu and Muslim groups have also raised concern. SA Church Defenders' Pastor Mpfariseni Mukhuba, Deputy President of the SA Hindu Maha Sabha Prof. Brij Maharaj and SA Muslim Network Dr. Faisal Suliman joined the conversation. The CRL Rights Commission was unable to participate in this discussion but Newsbreak Talk did carry their response...
