Description: Have you ever wondered why you are on this planet or if your life truly holds lasting purpose? In this episode of Living Strong, brought to you by Sun City West Christian Church, we explore humanity's most foundational questions: Where did we come from, why are we here, and whose are we? While human history, literature, and modern culture often spiral into cynicism or despair, Scripture reveals that our true worth isn't defined by worldly success, wealth, or human opinion. We are intentionally created in the image of God to share an eternal relationship with our Heavenly Father. Tune in as we discuss what it means to bear God's image, examine His unique design for our lives, and see how all of creation points back to its Creator.

Key Takeaways

The Search for Human Purpose

Human purpose often seems to shift across life stages—from play at age 5 to remembering why we walked into the kitchen at age 80. While technology and directions can guide our steps, they cannot answer why we exist.

Human Pessimism vs. Divine Value

Thinkers like H.G. Wells, Sigmund Freud, Jonathan Swift, and Mark Twain grew increasingly cynical about humanity over time. While human history and societal trends highlight our weaknesses and flaws, God assigns intrinsic value and dignity to human life.

Made in the Image of God

Humans are not accidents or governed merely by biological instinct. We are created in God’s image to share a direct relationship with Him, setting humanity apart from the rest of creation and even angels.

The Character of God as Father

Earthly parents are limited by imperfection, ignorance, or inability. God's Fatherhood, however, is perfect and complete. While human parenting prepares children for independence, God’s parenting prepares His children for an eternal, loving dependence on Him.

Creation Points to the Creator

Nature and the universe continuously point toward an intelligent Creator, testifying to God's eternal power, beauty, and majesty without uttering a physical word.

SCW CHRISTIAN CHURCH (SCWCC) was established December 12, 1991, under the leadership of First Christian Church of Sun City. The present church sanctuary was built in February 1997, and underwent an expansion in 2011.
SCWCC has always been a spiritual storehouse in the West Valley of the Phoenix area, where the Bible is taught as God’s inspired and ever-relevant Word to man. It is a non-denominational fellowship of Christians from different religious backgrounds who have found a common acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord.
