- 1 Peter 3:8 – 4:12 / 1 Peter has much to say about suffering, because Peter wrote to Christians undergoing tremendous persecution. Peter encouraged those believers to live out Christ before their persecutors in order to demonstrate the hope and joy they had in the reality of their coming eternal heavenly destiny. Crawford reminds us that we are to live out Christ in times of difficulty too.
