Sign into the Breakfast Club with Gerald Cole, Sophie Golliver, and Pierre. Sophie had a bit of a scare

yesterday. Oh my goodness, I don't even think I want to relive it, but we're gonna relive it next on air. Also, don't forget, we have those cafe Mosaic week weekday lunch buffet for 4 vouchers for you to win from us.

OK, we'll tell you more about this scare. It's got to do with a frog, believe it or not. Here's Eddie Grant, with Give Me Hope, Joanna, 905. Sounds good.

Good morning. It's us, uh, Gerald and Sophie. It's

the Breakfast Club with you. And uh since we have taken on the transition to be, you know, be waking up early this week, things have changed a little bit at home for us. Yeah, logistics, uh, routines, as you know, I've got 3 children at home. So my mom off to me. I have no idea. I'm still doing it. I'm still figuring it out. But um because of the new routine, I'm gone very early in the morning, right? So that kind of leaves my, my wonderful helper.

And my mom to kind of cover that with the kids, get them on the bus and stuff. My helper, I'm extremely lucky and there's not a day that goes by that I don't believe that it takes a village to raise a child, right? It's a community project. OK, so my helper was helping to get um my son ready for school yesterday. So his routine is he puts his socks on, she puts his shoes on, she gets them from the doorstep and puts them on.

She noticed when she was trying to get his little foot into the shoe that the foot wasn't going in. She she was forcing his foot and she noticed there was resistance in the shoe, and she thought these shoes are new. I mean, there's enough space. I don't he? He's turning 2 ft, growing feet, but we just got him new shoes and they're pretty spacious. So she, she didn't understand. She kept jamming this foot in. She thought, OK, maybe I put a pair of socks in and it's blocking.

She stuck her hand in the shoe. My goodness, there was a frog in the shoe. It was in the toe area and she screamed, a frog, a real frog. She threw the shoe. OK, look, the frog wasn't hurt, um, the frog was a bit shocked to see her, he was like, hey, what's going on?

The frog jumped out, so then she then collected him and and returned him outside. She took a photo of the frog for me, but she said it was hard for her to stay calm in front of my son because she didn't want him to see and be afraid. um, and then she sent me the picture and we were all laughing about it.

Um, no, no, no, I'm just surprised that the frog is still alive. When he jammed the feet in.

Yeah,

malleable. No, she

said the frog was like, hey, like why did you wake me up, kind of, kind of look because they jump and they're pretty, they're pretty robust, right? So when she threw the shoe, it kind of was like, hey, I'm here. So she collected him, put him outside, but she said it took everything to stay calm and not to shriek,

right?

I understand that part because you know, like for kids.

The moment you shriek, that's when they develop a fear.

She didn't want that, and she said he was very, the frog was um, oh, she said squishy, oh, she just was really freaked out. OK. And that made me think, everybody has that one creepy crawly, they cannot stay calm around, right? So Shri is not afraid of bugs, wasps, anything but frogs, that's her fear.

So for her, it took everything. So I want to ask you, what is the creepy crawly you cannot stay calm around?

Wait, what was your son's reaction?

He didn't know. And that was the point was he was like, hey, and she said she didn't draw attention to it. She got rid of it because she didn't want him to start screaming or anything like that. Let

him keep the pet.

No, it was happy to go

outside,

for me, it's, it's a lizard. I cannot stand any lizard. No, no way.

Uh, so there was one time, you know, I saw a lizard as well, and then my, my wife likes to like tease me, you know, when she sees sees a lizard, she'll look at it. And then in front of like Gemma, I, I wouldn't dare to like go like, oh my God, oh my God, because I don't want her to, you know, develop this fear. So lizards for me, but OK, wait, hold on, sorry, back to the frog thing. When I was in the army, I'm also afraid of frogs, you know why? Because in the army we had to like sleep in tents, and these are like it's called basha tents or something like really low tents, and then you lie.

On the floor and then there was one time it was raining very heavily and then suddenly I felt like somebody touching my nose. And then, and then I asked my buddy, it's like, Why are you touching my nose? Stop it. It was actually two frogs just jumping up and down onto my nose.

That's the thing about them. They're not even scared of you. That's the thing about frogs. It's the unpredictability.

My friend switched on the torch and he was like, there are 2 frogs just jumping up and down on your face.

I freaked

out.

OK, we want to know your story, so drop us a WhatsApp 961-71905. What is the creepy crawly? You cannot stay calm around. And if we love your story, the cafe Mosaic weekday lunch buffet for four could be yours. What's yours for me, it's.

Got to be any kind of bug, terrifying absolutely terrified

if if you're driving and you

see a cockroach in my

car, I'll throw the car away in the bin.

Ace of base all that she wants. Today we're talking about creepy crawlies. Is there one that you cannot stand?

And you try your very best. I don't know. I mean, it could be your first date and then you try to pretend that, you know, you're OK. Uh, because yesterday, Sophie had her, her son, you know, um, your, your helper was stuffing his feet into the shoe, couldn't get in, realized there was a frogs in

there,

hanging out in the shoe. She freaked out. So I want to ask you, when was the last time you had that EBG?

OK, mine's a lizard for

you. So, OK, we

got our producer Jiaxian as well. Jiaxian, what's what's a creepy collie that you cannot stand? I absolutely hate

cockroach.

Oh yeah, OK, I'm with you. We can we can cry together.

The ones that fly, yeah, uh, all 95% of Singapore, I guess, uh, are scared of flying cockroaches. OK, we've got someone on the line. Hello, what's your name? Hi, this is Joan. Hi. Alright, good morning to you.

Morning. I like to share mine. Yeah, mine is actually cockroaches, especially the flying ones, and when I see one, I will take the insecticide, and each time I spray, I will scream. I will spray till the croco doesn't move. And my daughter will say almost the whole can of the insecticide is finished,

you

know,

by your

spray. And then when those who fly, I would scream.

And my head will be so itchy. Oh my goodness scratching my head, you know, I get this feeling. I, I need to, um, well, hats off to you though. I mean, if I were you, I'll get somebody else

to spray on. No, she's creating a remix, right, because she sprays, she screams, she sprays, she screams. She's creating her own soundtrack to tell these cockroaches, if you come back, you're not gonna make it, OK.

And I make sure I spray the cock doesn't move anymore.

Oh, I know there's something about them, right? The way they just crawl in and they take a long time for them to, you know, stop moving when you do spray them. Um, yeah.

Can

I ask, how about your husband? Is he there to be the hero or he's like, you just go, he's scared as well, he's not around when there are cockroaches in the house. That's the problem.

All the cockroaches alike, the man of the house is out. It's time to dance. Your favorite music companions, Media Corp Gold 905. And speaking of danger zone, we are giving ourselves the EBGBs with the creepy crawlies today. We are talking about that creepy crawly that you just cannot stay calm around.

Whole morning when Sophie was, I mean, she's reading all these WhatsApp messages, right? She's just like shaking. I'm

starting to feel a bit sick.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write these, by the way.

I need to take videos of you and then put it up, you know, in a, in a real on the go.

the creepy crawlies, and then just now one of my hairs touched my neck and I thought it was a creepy crawly or a cockroach, like mini freaked out. OK, OK, Gillian says morning guys. I used to work in a stable.

And we would leave our long riding boots at work. One morning I tried to put my foot into my boot and I felt something soft and squishy and something long as well. Oh my gosh, please don't. I freaked out, I overturned the boot. Guess what? A mouse came out. I hate mice and rats, but the boot was too expensive for me just to chuck in the bin.

I took my other foot, for my other boot, and something squishy was there again. Guess what? This time it was a frog. I've never left my boots upright after that ever again. I would overturn them and, um, give them a little kick every morning.

So

cute. You have little houses in your stable and

That's your boots.

Oh my goodness, you think about it, think about it, you're tiny, right? And you're looking for somewhere to hide and you see Gillian's beautiful boots, nice and dark and warm inside. It's got a

nice right angle as well, then you can keep yourself in there. What is that, a

little hallway for you turn right. Susan says it's got to be lizards, that's for sure, especially when the tail drops off and it's still wiggling.

Good morning guys. Oh, good

morning, um, I, I, I get scared of uh lizards as well. Main reason is because my grandmother once told me that if the lizard tail gets, uh, dropped off, right, it could go into your ears. The tail goes into your old wife's tail whatsoever, but it goes into your ears and it can stay there for a long time.

How did it get from the floor to your ears if you're lying on the floor, I guess.

It's a magnet

in their tail. I don't

know. Come to me, OK.

It's got to be centipedes or millipedes. The millions and millions of legs really freak me out. Oh, we've got actually a few more coming up. OK. OK.

We'll read them. Uh, continue to WhatsApp in. It's 961-71905. And if we find your text or your call, very interesting, we could be giving you the chance to walk away with a may microwave oven. Oh, no,

it's not actually that right now. It's the Cafe Mosaic weekday lunch buffet for 4. We already gave out the microwave, the final one for today, Jan.

my wife just texted and she wants me to to just share the story that happened to us. We, we moved into our new place,

beautiful new place it is.

So, um, because the drainage system is all new, um, and we didn't quite understand like how do you put like, do we have to put a cover over the drain in the toilet?

yes, you actually have to buy these like, I don't know how to put this like a like a silicon like a little seal seal to put on top so that cockroaches won't come up from

the pipes.

OK, I didn't even think about that, but that's a good note. Yeah.

So there was one that came up from the pipes. And then guess where it went to, it went to one of these like IKEA.

Uh, uh, plastic boxes in there, all our um biscuits, when we moved from the previous house to the next house, you know, like biscuits, we've got like chocolates, we got tea bags, everything's in this huge pantry

box.

So this guy was just having a buffet in there, like it's a party, all you can eat, yeah, lay your eggs, bring your friends kind of thing. So,

so you know for for cockroaches, they have got um

I don't know, like they can flatten themselves to like a thin piece of paper. I don't know how it got into this, this plastic

crate.

They are incredibly resilient too,

yeah. So

we went in and I was just feasting in there, and now and then we will hear like, you know, the plastic crunch,

right?

I was like, what's that? And then I saw this guy looking at us from the from the inside and we're looking in.

Guess what? We threw the whole box away.

We're gonna say he was like, Hey, come in. I've got some biscuits, come join

me,

Jared. So what we did was we, we taped the whole box yeah

with him inside and you just threw the whole thing away. We put

it downstairs.

So mobile buffet for him, just um.

And then 5 minutes the box was just gone. I think somebody was like, oh, somebody didn't

want.

Oh no, I hope someone didn't take it. You should have left a note. Oh dear, OK, Mars says it's gonna be for me the thing that gives me the biggest creepy crawly IBGBs. It's something called a skink. Do you know what that is? Skink. And she sent me a picture and it's this like giant lizard, uh, it's colorful and it just looks really, she said it's a kind of lizard in Sydney Gardens.

It moves really fast, it would jump onto the sofa if it creeps into the house. But I'm good with cockroaches. I can catch them with my bare hands. Mars? What? Don't do that. OK, so you should have just called Mars. You didn't need to throw away the biscuits. Mars would come over, catch it with a bare hand and problem solved. I,

I don't even

dare to eat the biscuits after that, you know.

It's Gerald and Sophie your Breakfast Club on a Friday, and we thought, it's Friday, let's talk about something fun. Let's talk about the EB Gebies creepy crawlies that give you the creeps. Is that fine?

Uh, it's proving not to be, actually, to be honest with you, but your stories are keeping us young. So Valerie says, good morning everybody. Uh, I get rather squeamish for any kind of reptiles or bigger creepy crawlies. Luckily, we don't have many cockroaches or mosquitoes on the 8th floor of the executive maisonette that I live on, um, but I always have bygone ready.

Well, uh, thanks for all your WhatsApp messages, your calls as well, but I would like to say congratulations to Joan. You called earlier. Can you share with us your flying cockroach stories.

That's right. You are our winner for today. So even though it took the flying cockroach for you to score this, you are the winner of the Cafe Mosaic weekday lunch buffet for 4. So that is, um, 1 spot for you, Joan, and 3 for the cockroaches to join you at the buffet.

Satisfy your craving with a selection of hot mains such as sambal prawn and squid, Marmite pork ribs, steamed fish with black bean sauce, and many more on top of that seasonal fruit and desserts for you to eat as many as you want. They've
