THE LETTER Guest BRIAN MHLANGA & REITUMETSE MTHEMBU
Dear Mapaseka
I have recently discovered that my friend of 15 years asked for money from my husband and never bothered to ask me. I met my husband through her as they had gone to varsity together. We have been married for 10 years. I found out he gave her R20 000 and apparently they agreed that she would pay it back 2 months later. I found out that this is taking place 6 months later after I saw a text exchange between the two of them. She was making excuses why she has not returned the money.
We have been saving up for a new house and now I find out money is being used without my knowledge. When I asked my husband why he did this he says my friend asked that we keep it away from me so that I don’t get stressed out. They have
been going out for drinks and hanging out with other friends I have now found out. This woman is the godmother to both my children and is a best friend since high school, we grew up together.
How do I begin to trust both of these people again, I feel so disappointed and let down. What do I do?
