THE LETTER Guest
Dear Mapaseka
Ma Mokwele I am a 49 years old single woman with 2 grown up children from
different fathers. I am also a grandmother. I am working, raised my kids by myself and we are ok. I live with my daughters and just like anyone else we are surviving and I am grateful .
I have been trying to be in relationships but nothing has worked out so far. I had to admit to myself that I am lonely even though I try to keep myself busy with church. I do take myself out sometimes , or ask a lady friend if we can go out for coffee, or a massage, but in many cases I must initiate that and it’s so tiring as
well.
I tried studying part time (twice; butI don’t finish what I have registered for, so I am not sure if it is me who is just tired about everything?) I sometimes feel like I miss those phone calls where someone with that thick voice will just call just before 10 pm and ask how my day was ,etc. I would want a relationship that starts off slow and not immediately be let’s do lunch or dinner. I want someone who can take his time to know me, someone I will fall in love with , we go to the movies & walk in the park , watch soccer etc. Often times men feel like I am either bossy /uptight or strict. I would love to have a friend first ,then after sometime when the person really thinks they now know me, then they can ask me nicely if we can upgrade our friendship OR am I watching too many movies Mapaseka?
