THE LETTER Guest
Dear Mapaseka
I need help regarding my relationship. I met my partner in 2012 and we
have been together for 12 years and not yet married. In 2022 I paid a
lobola to show her that I am serious about our relationship. We have 3 kids
but one dieddue to miscarriage.
Early 2024 I told her that I need to use a picture of hers she had taken
during our friend’s wedding wearing traditional attire. I went to her
Facebook profile, mind you I had informed her about that. Instead I found
pictures of her with a guy that I don't know.
I asked her about him, she said he is a friend. Those pictures were taken
in different places even at the groove. I was shocked because she said is
not a party animal.
I went to the guy’s Facebook profile and saw a status of him professing his
love to her and she had responded positively to him.
In one of the pictures she was brushing the guy’s beard. After asking her
about this she confessed that they are in love. I was so shocked and she
told me she did this because I didn't take care of her feelings. For me this
does not add up as I did everything for her while she was studying until
she get a job. She now plays the victim in this situation as if all this is my fault while she
didn't tell me that she had problems in our relationship. This was as we were getting ready for umembeso; I do not want my children to be raised outside of our relationship. What should I do?
