Dear Mapaseka
I am a father to a daughter who is 4 years old. I have been staying with my daughter
For the entire time and have been on the street to make a living for her.
Her mother left us to be with another man. I was unemployed. I have temporary jobs;
I worked at a tavern for us to survive. Whilst I was hustling at the tavern her mother came
back and we never got a chance to fix the relationship, we had just continued on
for the sake of our daughter. She then demanded money from me; money I did not have.
Then a month later she asked for space from the relationship and I've allowed her to go
with open arms. Now I have a job and have been working for 8 months and I asked
to pay lobola for the child, she agreed. But now the problem is; she wants to bring the
present boyfriend with her. To accompany her to come fetch the child from my home and
so I've declined her request as I felt disrespected. Our agreement was to meet
each other where i live as the child lives with neck problems and under
medication. Basically she's not in a stable health condition.
She now says I must not send my uncle to come over for the lobola payment, because
I refused to give my daughter to her whilst she is with her boyfriend.
I don't want my child to suffer. When our daughter was with her she got sick and was
admitted to the ICU. Please kindly advise me on this matter. How should i best move
forward?
