Dear Mapaseka
My husband and I have been married for 17 years. I've communicated my concern of his
alcohol intake on numerous occasions. When intoxicated; he becomes this person I don't
recognize. He would raise issues that have previously hurt him and never communicated.
I'm contemplating divorce because it happened again whilst on vacation; I thought all was
well only to find out on our return that he was hurt.
I'm now wondering gore how does person "pretend" like this. Thereafter we spent 2 weeks
without communication and that really made me even more uncertain of our marriage.
I feel like my trust has been jeopardized as I have on numerous occasions told him
we need to be in constant communication no matter how hard the situation may be.
He would in that period be drinking and I told him alcohol triggers me, especially when he
keeps quiet on us. Can this be resolved or is divorce the only answer?
