Catherine and Khadija talk about her business story, setting up a cleaning business from scratch to being a contestant on the Apprentice. Khadija talks honestly about how she’s overcome some of the challenges she has faced in her life and we hear what it’s really like to be on the Apprentice.

What Was The Aim In Applying To The Apprentice? Khadija shared her reasons for applying to be on the apprentice; to become Lord Sugar's business partner. It offered Khadija credibility to talk about issues that are important to her and her children like education.

Styles Of Leadership. Khadija spoke of having learnt from past mistakes in developing her own style of leadership. From being really strict, to begin with, and then lurching to being overly laissez-faire. Her leadership style is now a combination of friendliness but when there is poor performance she will take action to correct it quickly.

The Apprentice. Everyone sees the reality TV element of the apprentice. The humour and the editing all make for great TV. What viewers don’t see often is the contestants crying at the end of the day, being away from their families with little contact for an extended period of time and missing their children.

Mumpreneur As A Term. We all love our kids. Why in business do we pretend that we don’t have them? Mumpreneur came from a place of Khadija showing that being an entrepreneur and being a mom are two huge jobs and everyone should know that you're doing them both successfully.

Khadija Kalifa is a busy Mumpreneur on a mission to build an empire, whilst raising two under 5's and inspiring others to make their passion their profession.

As a current BBC Apprentice Candidate who has built a profitable cleaning business, employing 30 staff over the last four years, whilst raising two infants, Khadija has learnt many tricks of the trade.
With experience in educational and event speaking, from planning lessons to free styling, she loves to inspire and motivate everyone to achieve their full potential. Khadija was raised by a single mother and the eldest of four children. Khadija went to school in an underprivileged area of Peterborough and spent time mixing with the wrong crowds whilst feeling frustrated with her families financial struggle. Khadija told the world from 12 years old that one day she would be rich and successful and it was in year 12 that Khadija really pulled her act together and realised that her success was down to her and her alone.

Khadija's main topics of discussion are around overcoming adversity and hardship both in childhood and after the complicated birth of her first daughter. Khadija speaks about taking a negative and using it as fire to fuel success.
