Tanya suggested we all ‘hold lightly’, nowadays dating profiles are so ubiquitous and people aren’t looking with a lot of intention, so we shouldn’t place too much importance. Hinge can be great… but quite two dimensional. Tanya suggested we be honest with who we are looking for, and have strong boundaries. We need to ‘fine tune the people coming into our in tray’! First dates should be chatty situations, maybe a coffee but definitely not a three course dinner. Have it short and sweet and something planned afterwards. Have it in a place that will facilitate good chat. Tanya’s final advice on how to plan a date is: Make it easy and simple and time-limited.
