As South Africa observes the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the voices of young women are growing more urgent and impossible to ignore. With renewed national calls for femicide to be declared a national disaster, and fresh outrage sparked by protests at Wits University following rape allegations against an SRC member, issues of student safety, accountability and campus culture have returned to the forefront.
