As Election Day 2026 finally arrives, the anticipation is palpable. The polls are open, and the country is holding its breath as voters head to the polls to cast their ballots. But amidst the excitement, a more pressing issue is being overlooked: the lack of attention to local issues. In this episode, the speaker discusses the importance of voting and the consequences of not doing so. They're joined by John Shannon from the newsroom, who shares insights on the polling and the potential outcomes of the election.

The conversation delves into the trend of nationalizing elections, where local issues are often overlooked in favor of focusing on the president and their policies. This can lead to a lack of coverage on local issues and a disconnection between voters and their representatives. The speaker and John discuss the importance of paying attention to local politics and the need for more coverage on these issues.

The episode also touches on the topic of voting and the potential consequences of not doing so. The speaker shares their personal experience of feeling frustrated with the lack of information on local candidates and the importance of doing one's research before casting a vote. They also discuss the issue of the pardon system and the need for reform.
