There is a massive difference between the world of results in the professional game and the world of development in the youth and academy game. 
In the youth phase, we are looking at helping players to improve personally and they have space and the time to do that. 
In the results phase it’s all about playing a particular way and sticking to a task and applying yourself there and then to get the results. 
Essentially it’s down to the individual we are all our own people and you cannot try and be someone else or be like somebody else and carry it off successfully. 
We can all look at great people in our spheres whether its business, politics or sport and  identify successful strategies that we could use in our own armoury. 
Should people be motivated  from the inside absolutely, because intrinsic motivation is much longer lasting than extrinsic motivation.
